I'm hoping Kirk and McCoy have eye swapping surgery at the end of the movie otherwise I will be pissed!

Actually though while I knew pines were blue they don't stand out as much to me. Urban as McCoy does as thats just something I notice, his blue eyes. Yeah its a nitpick and no its not going to make not see the movie or lose any sleep, just something that stood out more to me that the new kirks.

That would be taking a role way too far, especially since it was actor, Doohan missing a finger not his character Scotty.

I always thought it was odd they took all that care to make sure you never saw Doohan was missing a finger.

Don't forget, trailers are heavily edited. Maybe the whole exchange between Kirk and the cop goes like this in the film:

Cop: What is your name.
Kirk: Kirk.
Cop: What is your full name.
Kirk: (defiantly) I'm James Tiberius Kirk!

I'm glad to see there is one other thinking person out there, not just someone going crazy over a 30 second rushed to the theatre/web trailer.

The Shat has brown eyes but this kid had blue eyes as you can see as he's telling the cop his full name (who does that?) and when he's looking up at the Enterprise being built on Earth (again, who does that?)

reminds me is "1969", the episode of Stargate SG-1. They get sent back in time where they meet Lt. Hammond where he has brown eyes where General Hammond has blue eyes. Eye color doesn't change over time. It might a little but not like that.

No offense, but is eye color really that big a deal? Hey, if the guy ACTS like Kirk, he is Kirk.

If I where recasting an iconic character, the last thing i'd worry about would be eye color.
