That's kinda cool... though the hard sci-fi geek in my questions the upright position of the seat relative to the thrusters. Pulling G's in that position could be uncomfortable.

I don't think so. Even with Cloverfield we had many pictures before the movie came out, we just couldn't see the big guy until the movie.

I think with Star Trek JJ might not have complete control on what gets put out to the public. I think the studio is really going to push this film so we may see more of it then JJ would want.

Hypothetically, a bad guy (or bad guys...or Nero himself, for that matter), could've simply forced him into an escape pod and off the ship. Enterprise could be fine, but some intruders demand Kirk jettison himself in an escape pod...

...I hope they force him to jettison the bridge with him. Sorry...I'm just not into that bridge very much.

Speaking of Khan, I think it'd be hilarious if at one point in the movie when the ship is under attack, the conn officer gets injured, leading Kirk to belt out:
