Spoilers Killjoys - Season 4

And the dark humor from Adele Sayah continues.

I doubt Delle Seyah was joking about that. Knowing the Nine, she was probably speaking literally from personal experience.

It's funny because it's true. ;)

I'm liking this season but the show seems way jokier than I remember it, not that I'm complaining.

I think they've have a good balance going between the humor and the darker stuff, cause it's fair to say there have been some pretty dark twists so far.

And of course the half-alien baby grows to adolescence in a single episode. I should've seen that coming. And of course he picks up English by the end of the episode too.

I wonder if the bioweapons dealer being an AI was the plan all along, or a rewrite to deal with a tight guest star budget.

That was a pretty good ep (IMO). Some interesting developments with the other assassin.

I have to say, I'm not finding the story arc as engaging this season. They're all just kind of in a holding pattern trying to deal with the consequences of last season, while trying to sort out the nebulous threat of "the Lady" and very slowly set things up for the final season. It lacks the momentum of previous seasons, and I'm getting a little frustrated by the lack of answers to the questions last season raised.

Isn’t this current season “the last season “?

No, it's season 4 of a planned 5 (it was renewed for its final two seasons last fall). Which presumably is why they're taking their sweet time building up to the reveal of who the hells "the Lady" is rather than just getting on with it. They must be saving her for the big finish next year.

Caught up to the last two episodes...

And of course he picks up English by the end of the episode too.

At least there's an explanation or two that makes some sense here since he apparently has access to some memory/information (though it's random at best now), and possibly can read minds since he knew the assassin was going to cyanide himself.

I doubt one extra guy would break the bank, and if he did they could have just combined the clerk and the security guy into one person...

Loved both versions of the heist by the way :D

I actually kinda like that it's more quieted down and personal after all the epicing it up last season, and the episodes have been both interesting and very fun so I've no problem with the admittedly slower pace of the main story arc.

The thing is, I'm not sure the character arcs are working for me either. Johnny and Dutch have gone too dark, D'avin and Delle Seyah have had their story arcs taken over by the whole parenting angle, and much of the focus is on Zeph and Pip, whom I don't like as much as the main leads. I dunno, I guess using D'av's fatherhood to resonate with the brothers' feelings about their own lousy father is a good idea, and I liked D'av confronting Dutch on the abusiveness of how Khlyen raised her. But it's still the umpty-millionth insta-maturing baby storyline in sci-fi TV. This show has usually been fresher than that.

Except the assasain had taken the cyanide before then (slow release as Dutch says).

My feeling is his ability it more along the lines of prescience

Nice to see some more backstory for Khlyen's past and the origins of the green. Also nice to see who the mystery woman is.

I'm loving the de-hullenized hullen guy and Lucy's sass-o-meter is just fine. :techman:

One of the aspects I've come to really enjoy is the cast having a strong chemistry. That goes a long way when the writing is good.

I'm a bit surprised to discover that Khlyen is his first name (Khlyen Kin Rit). It seems odd for so many characters who despise him to address him in such a familiar way. But then, Kin Rit was already established as Aneela's surname, so I guess it does follow.
