Killing off long time characters

I'd also prefer if they didn't use the old "die instantly from a neck wound" routine. It's one of my TV/movie pet peeves.

I hope they have that out of their system and don't kill off too many long time characters in the 2nd season. There are other ways to wound the main characters.

What "long time characters" did they previously kill, besides Data?

Maddox - 1 of 178 TNG episodes
Hugh -- 2 of 178 TNG episodes
Icheb -- 11 of 172 VOY episodes (and really, no one cares because he was offed in the cold opening)

I cared about Icheb and Hugh. Both seemed to be killed to motivate Seven. Didn't ruin the series for me, but I'd rather not see this trend continue.

I'd rather they tell a good story and kill characters if it fits the story. But, that will vary from person to person.

No one really important. Even Data can be recreated again from one single positronic neuron.

I'd really prefer they didn't kill any main cast. Look at how that worked out with Kirk...

Said no one ever (except Bornin1980something).

...and me...

I have never been the same since they burned René Picard to death.........:D

They say time is the fire in which we burn...

Really? I cheered when that annoying kid got mutilated

...and maybe a thing or two wrong with the fandom... :wtf:

He got his own novel series?
