Killing off long time characters

I hope they have that out of their system and don't kill off too many long time characters in the 2nd season. There are other ways to wound the main characters.

I think "long term" in this context means "people/characters fans have grown attached to."

I cared about Icheb and Hugh. Both seemed to be killed to motivate Seven. Didn't ruin the series for me, but I'd rather not see this trend continue.

I'd rather they tell a good story and kill characters if it fits the story. But, that will vary from person to person.

Just a reminder... modern Trek is built to cater to more modern audiences. If you prefer older Trek (as I do), there's plenty to stream.

No one really important. Even Data can be recreated again from one single positronic neuron.
