Well that's the problem when you don't know when to stop. Kirk's story was well finished in TUC, and it was more than satisfactory.
That's actually a pretty good description of the Berman/Braga style - they didn't know when to stop!

Not only that, but it marked the last appearence of both icons (Kirk and Wayne).
Not that I disagree with you... but who are we to debate the infallability of canon?![]()

Exactly. If only one of them had ever heard the saying quit while you're ahead, many modern Trek catastrophes would have been avoided.Well that's the problem when you don't know when to stop. Kirk's story was well finished in TUC, and it was more than satisfactory.

Instead of Generations, they could have made the next movie of Sulu and the Excelsior and during a crisis show how Sulu's tactics really worked more than Kirk's ideas (Him onboard)
It was a weak death. If you're going to have Kirk die he should really be the focus of the movie and not just be in 1/3 of it.
I always thought he would be killed by the jealous spouse of an alien lover.![]()
I think everyone knows that, but the dissatisfaction by some might be in the way it all played out.Kirk and Picard finally meeting was the big selling point of Generations. If they hadn't done it, everybody would be complaining about how they missed a golden opportunity to bring the two captains together.

I think that killing Kirk was vastly less stupid than killing the Enterprise-D.
