kill wesley crusher

I feel the writer's on the show really missed an opportunity with Wesley. Had they allowed him to be a part of the stories without being the hero every few episodes I think fans would have grown to like him. As it were, the writers made him the into the boy genius no one but kid viewers liked. I feel the same way about Troy. The writers cared about the Troy character enough to provide her the opportunity to grow, something they seemed uninterested in doing with Wesley until his final season on the show. It's too bad because TNG created such memorable characters, and I think Wesley was a real missed opportunity by some pretty good writers who obviously didn't like Gene's choice of having a kid on the Enterprise.

kill wesley crusher

why?

if they had, the Enterprise would have been destroyed on numerous occasions, people would have died, Worf would have still be PMS-ing, altered Riker would have taken over the Enterprise and who knows how much more of the Federation.

give the kid a break.

I remember back in the early '90s there were literally hundreds of alt lists entitled every variation of 'kill Wesley Crusher' with a slight variation in the number of 'kill's in the title. The other variation were hundreds of 'Wesley Crusher must die' ones.

Fast-forward to 1997 and we get the "Wesley Crusher Ate My Balls!" sites...

It was an internet fad back when the net was first getting popular. Different sites featuring different actors/characters, but all with images of the individual talking about how he/she loved to devour people's testicles:

Here's a partial list of all the sites there once were (most of the links are no longer good): http://members.tripod.com/~krazy_keith/Ballz.html

I second your opinion. Wesley Crusher was a missed opportunity. In real life even the best and the brightest make horrible mistakes. A couple of episodes showing this would have made him a more interesting and acessible character.

Wow an Internet fad so old I actually missed it. And I've been around since the Internet still ran on steam power.

It's been 21 years and you still can't get over it? Probably just jealous that he's hotter than you.

Not being too concerned with the Trek community until recently, I have no idea where this hatred of Wesley Crusher comes from. I always found him to be a very interesting character. Much more interesting than alot of main characters in later shows, such as Harry Kim, Mayweather, or even Sato.
And no I don't hate Voyager or Enterprise, I love all the series equally, so please don't accuse me of bias.
