News Khan has finished production and will come out this year

It will be Khanon.

I enjoyed the TNG audio dramas as a kid :D

Unfortunate to read that this wasn't Nicholas Meyer writing / directing the final product, and I wonder just how much of the three part miniseries storyline survived what must have been numerous revisions. David Mack is a great Star Trek novelist though, so I'm guardingly optimistic, provided this is the Khan of "Space Seed" and TWOK and not some "25% different" "reinterpretation" SNW-adjacent thing.
We shall see. Whatever Meyer was working on couldn't have been worse than Section 31 so I wonder if we'll soon all be wishing his miniseries was made

I had no idea these existed! Were they original stories or adaptations of the episodes?
The title translates as "The Mighty" suggesting it might be an original story, though I can't seem to find out anything on Google about this. The first few results when I try to look it up are a Reddit asking about German Star Trek podcasts, an article talking about how "bizarre" it is to watch Star Trek dubbed in German, a list of top Star Trek podcasts, and the Wikipedia page for Star Trek fan productions. I clicked the Wikipedia page, though they don't mention this or other TNG audios from Germany.

I just saw that Meyer didn't actually write the script for this too. As for Section 31, without spoiling much people who watched it know there ARE augment connections in that movie and I'm now wondering if those are going to show up in this audio drama.

These were audio drama adaptation of the first ten or so episodes of the first season of The Next Generation, using the German dub, editing some of the dialog for length and adding a narrator describing stuff that could not be seen. “Der Mächtige” is the first part of “Encounter at Farpoint”, “the mighty” referring to Q, of course. For what they were they weren’t that bad and before the home video market became a thing they were one of the only ways to experience these episodes outside of catching another TV broadcast. They certainly have a very nostalgic charm, that I guess can best be appreciated by those who listened to these things when they were kids. (Which I did.)

This will be the THIRD take on Khan's time at Ceti Alpha 5. We have the fine novel written by @Greg Cox first to my recollection, an IDW comic that came out in 2011 (unconnected with the previously mentioned novel), and now this.

The problem with audio dramas is that due to their nature everything needs to be verbally described in dialogue no matter how clunky that is. It makes for some unnatural dialogue sometimes. In this case, we'll probably be treated to graphic descriptions of Ceti Eels and them crawling into people's ears etc. :ack:

I suppose I can spend an afternoon listening to this or just listen to one of the various Star Wars: High Republic audio dramas instead. Hmmm....
