Also, how long had Neelix and Kes been together when they first came aboard Voyager. I can't remember.

Numerous times it was shown or alluded to that Kes liked Tom, so why did she stay around with Neelix for so long?

According to my sources, when the USS Voyager returns to the DQ, they encounter the Taxalian miners again - it seems that Neelix was hanged off a lamppost soon after they left, once they worked out why he wanted to move straight in with a vunerable young woman and her son. Someone checked his records and it seems that he was on the talaxian nonce jotter and had a record as long as your arm.

I wonder if Kes was just a sex slave and Neelix conditioned her to be dependent on him.

Though please don't tell me they only had an 'emotional connection'. As tough as their reltionship is too swallow you have to assume they had sex, though as Voyager is a ship run by puritants maybe Aunt Kathy barred all sex except Hollographic sex. Better to use and abuse Holograms than have sex slave aliens. Shame Neelix didn't.

The joke wasn't intended to be about rape, because secretly I think Kes enjoyed playing the victim and liked it rough whilst externally played it prim and cutesy. It's always the quiet ones.

Like I said in another thread stereotypes usually have some basis in fact.
