I've really had trouble getting into this week's episode. I think I'm just stupid tired from work and can't concentrate, but otherwise it's not grabbing me.

Thankfully the Doctor has brought back millions of meaningless busywork jobs back to Space Amazon! Next she’ll save the jobs for greeters at the entrance of Space Wal-Mart. Automation is bad but I’m not quite sure why. I’ll readily admit I dozed off a couple of times so I may not be completely fair.

Chib’s Who looks great but the stories are leaving me cold this season. I think his Doctor “does domestic” too much for my tastes.

^ Actually, the plot of the episode is that automation isn't the enemy - the system is asking for help - but it's the people behind it that are. As well, it takes the stand that opposing automation isn't bad, but doing so in a way where those hurt at the customers is bad. It's basically the Doctor saying self-check out machines aren't inherently bad, but using them in place of human workers and overworking the few human workers that do exist is bad. But also that standing outside the store and dumping bleach on everyone's groceries doesn't really hurt those it's meant to.

Nice RTD old school sort of story, really enjoyed it and the season is really finding it's groove.

That was just...meh. It wasn't among the worst of the worst, but it's the weakest episode of the season so far for me. After some of the most gorgeous looking Dr Who episodes yet, this looked bad. Shoddy sets, poor cgi, meandering plot, and a not very interesting story.

Overnight was 5.93 million, so up on last Sunday, which is good.

Was fascinating on social media seeing some doomsayers who were gloating about the lower ratings that they say vindicate their hatred and point to the imminent cancellation of the show try to pretzel themselves.

There are still some people complaining that Doctor Who isn't the same without the Daleks and the Cybermen. Why do I get the impression that some of these people were also those that were complaining about the Daleks and the Cybermen being used too often.

I wonder what they would have made of Pertwee's era, when he never even met the Cybermen until the Five Doctors special.

i loved this ep.

It felt totally classic (more RTD classic then 1963-1989 classic). Well a lower body count then anything RTD ever did! Lol

I've been hankering with a fantastical strange-new-world story for a while (The Ghost Moniter, while I loved, didn't really fulfil that element for me just personally).

Sidenote, this is the first time I've been wanting spin-offs in years. I think Chibnall can think of a good idea. I do have a fantasy of Jo and her grandchildren (And Ace!) Lol doing their own kid friendly enivromental warriors spin off.

I'd rather see Iris WhileThyme and Panda.

If the teleport engine is not inside the robot, then the Robot is a window dressing.

WHAM! Parcel on your door stop, and no creepy Robot informing you that the revolution is imminent.

The Kerblam-Men should have been transported to Skaro or Tellos.

Boom.

Bombs might not be able to penetrate Dalekanium or Cyber armour, having been designed by a guy who possibly hadn't penetrated anything ever.

And yeah, the robots are window dressing, but that might be the point. Amazon Prime is cool, but impersonal. If every delivery company does the "order online and get it to your door in 24 hours!", how do they compete? Add personalisation. "Delivery for Guy!" (It's a device that tells you when your jokey schtick is going too far)

This was my favorite episode of the season so far. I think the reason why mostly is it was an episode where all the companions had a chance to shine, rather than 1 or 2 of them sitting on the sidelines. It also felt like a RTD story with the robots and the music and the message was more subtle than we've been getting.

Decent episode. It was nice to see Ryan and Yaz contribute to the story. Ryan's knowledge of and experience with warehouses came in handy, and we actually got to see Yaz display some fighting techniques, which we would expect with her being a cop and all. I did like the red herring of making us think it was Douchebag Manager behind everything when in fact it was Charlie the Maintenance Guy. The fez was a nice touch, I guess when the system sent its request for help it was expecting Matt Smith.

As much as I have loved this season so far, this felt like a good old “classic” Nu Who episode and i loved every minute of it!!

So the Doctor was first assigned to Maintenance but traded with Graham (without his agreeing to the switch). Would she have been able to catch on to Charlie's plan earlier if she had stayed in Maintenance?

How would a library/database know about the Universe it delivered billions of packages to every day?
Hey how did the system know about The Doctor?, I mean it's computer system so how did it know?

Its not like Oswin erased the Doctor from the space internet, not that long ago.

They had to be erased from the regular space internet, or the Dalek internet would have data-mined the Doctors life, and rebuilt the annals of their crusade against Dalek-kind.

Unless that's been retconned?

It has. The Daleks re-learned about the Doctor in "Time of the Doctor" when they took over the Papal Mainframe. Since then, the Doctor's been back to being known by people in the known, though they haven't gone back to the level of universal celebrity enjoyed during the pre-"Wedding of River Song" episodes.

I'm glad you asked that question, because it made something clear in the episode that confused me. Why would the Doctor, who is physically and mentally superior to any human being, be assigned to janitorial duties? (until she switched with Graham). Your question made me realize that the System probably recognized her as the Doctor after scanning her and assigned her to the department closest to Charlie.

It's all monkey work.

Anyone can mentally do any of the jobs available.

But physically, janitorial work is demanding compared to sorting letters.

Also, I was thinking that if the Doctor had been erased on the Earth Internet, throughout all time briefly, then way back in the pilot... Rose wouldn't have been able to find the Doctor on line, or that conspiracy nut who was obsessed with the Doctor who made a website.

FINALLLY!!!! An actual Doctor Who episode!!! This felt like seasons 1-4!!! Loved every second of it!
Haven't seen the episode yet so I need to clarify - seasons 1-4 as in 1963-1967? or series 1-4 as in 2005-2008? Just so I can set my expectations accordingly.
