Kelvin Blue Uniforms

In any event, I think we can all agree that Enterprise sucked. If not for that whole Xindi story arc, it would have had some redeeming qualities.

I'm not sure I can agree with that. It might be my favorite series but that's a tough call simply because it had the advantage of much higher production quality and CGI.

All I can say is...the Kelvin uniforms look mighty fine on Captain Robeau and George Kirk. Love 'em. And they look and feel right both for the Kelvin and within the Trek universe. Can't ask for better than that.

HOWEVER...the structure of those boobs in a birdcage dresses Kaplan did for the Vulcan women... that I'm not so shot with. The other Vulcan costumes were fine.

This post, and your others, lend you none of yourself.
Those posts are old news now -- from nearly a month ago. If we can leave that side discussion behind and get back to the topic of the Kelvin uniforms, then we'll be doing okay.

Anyone else notice the subtle nod to ENT and their blue uniforms? All uniforms on the USS KELVIN are blue, a sort of missing link between the uniforms of the future and the past(ie ENT). Being an ENT fan it almost made the movie for me.
Ya I noticed that as well.

I haven't heard what the rationale behind that dress design was; is there one?

I liked the uniforms on the kelvin just been reading about the clothes designer in my latest trek mag, they made three colours for the kelvin blue yellow and green . anyway got to drop some red matter into a planets core a villains job is never done . !!!!

Thanks, now I HAVE to get that mag!:) I do want to know why Kaplan stuck those funky chestcages on the Vulcan ladies - although I thought the veils and fabrics were beautiful. I just can't see why uber-intelligent, logical Vulcan women would be in those cantilvered contraptions along with the tight skirts. Nuh-uh. And did anyone else find it supremely odd for Spock Prime's parka to be (apparently) lined with *animal fur*???

OTOH, I loved most of the other costumes. Especially the shipboard shirts/jerseys on the Starships. I got goosebumps when I saw the Starfleet Deltas woven into the fabric.

I was pretty sure I'd seen gold or green uniforms on the Kelvin, on the bridge and elsewhere on the ship, so it's nice to have that confirmed. I'll have to go check them out in...yet another showing.:rommie:

Just 2 drop another bombshell I also read the outfits for spock,s mother comprised of a head scarf, and a scene was cut from the film with sarek and amanda on back of a hover bike heading towards the caves, while vulcan was under destruction !!! :vulcan::eek:

The unnamed crewman played by The Last Lecture guy was also in yellowish green.

Was that the guy in Engineering (I think it was Engineering) who was talking to Robau on the communicator? Cause I noticed that he didn't wear blue. And I'm sure one of the male bridge officers who got a line didn't wear blue either.

No, Vicki is refering to the guy who said "We have a visual Captain" when the Narada first appears. Took me two viewings to catch that that was Dr. Pausch.

I thought the uniforms looked great on buff males, but I think they would look none too flattering on most.

They reminded me of Kira's super tight uniforms on DS9. My, but those were unforgiving. I thought NV looked much better when they put her in a Star Fleet uniform, and she is thin and pretty!
