As for the "other" married couple, Worf/Jadzia, I wasn't really crazy about that pairing, mostly because I'm not a big Worf fan (he's such a stick in the mud!), but considering his last relationship was with Troi (worst pairing ever! and also, considering the bone-breaking sex he was having with Dax, how did he manage to not kill Troi when they were together?), anything was an improvement.
You know, as "soft" as Troi appeared to be, there's no reason to assume she's any less physically durable than Dax. A less skilled combatant and athlete and less interested in facing physical punishment, sure, but maybe not less capable of taking it. It's not like Betazoid/Humans and Trill are ever described as any more or less physically capable than the others. So maybe we just never saw her sheepish and painful visits to Beverly.
What I didn't buy is how Troi as an empath could handle or be attracted to the emotionally stunted with bursts of Klingon rage Worf. I would think an empath would need to be with an emotionally mature mate. I did not get Troi's attraction to Worf at all.
Jadzia was a better match. I think Jadzia really liked to play with her males, tease them, lead them on, be superior to them. She had a lot of fun with Worf because though he was vulnerable and she exploited this he was also a lot tougher than Julian and he could take it.
