Kate Mulgrew - Orange is the New black

And to bring this thread back to the woman who headlines it... here's one of my fav quotes from the above column.

Another wonderful side benefit of Orange's approach is the running room it gives to ace actresses like Toussaint and Kate Mulgrew, who plays a Russian powerhouse with her own tangled history regarding Vee and the old days behind bars. Elsewhere in TV land, these ladies would be exiled to playing judges and grandmothers; here, they stand at the center of the action, making moves which will affect the future of the prison.

Well, it approves of everything EXCEPT Larry. I loved this line.

The fictional Larry seems created to be the slightly dull, often self-pitying "normal" boyfriend Piper acquired on the rebound from the wild girlfriend (Laura Prepon) who led her into a fancy life of crime. It doesn't help that Schilling has better chemistry with Prepon.

Welp I'm watching it differently tonight if I can manage it. It was perfect for 3 eps then ep 4 took FOREVER it was awful.

Busy all day though so can't sneak any in for quite a while.

SUCH an enjoyable show, such awesome acting!!!

I closed Netflix at 3 am and refused to reopen it until tonight since I KNEW I wouldn't stop with just "one more" and the lawn really needed mowing!

OH yes I loved the Trek reference, any time Kate Mulgrew is in something they seem to sneak one in somewhere!

Yeah a little Larry goes a long way. He's not a horrible person but he is quite a wanker. btw I've been posting on theforce.net and you know you cannot say the word wanker there, or ass or.. just about anything. It gets asterisked out. It is very challenging for me to write with such restrictions :lol:
 
Yea I belong to some forums that have strong restrictions and language filtering. I was surprised when I first joined TrekBBS how liberal they were with language and was happy about that! :)
 
I'm not sure if you get mod slapped over there if your posts are full of ***. The words are banned, but the software filters them so is it still verboten to type them? People seem to get banned a lot so maybe this is the case :lol:
