You know we're two days away from the new season and I'm still not entirely looking forward to it. Maybe I might try to take this season slow but I didn't like season 3 all that much. Not sure if this season will be better. And I miss Nicky. :(

Technically... this has nothing to do with the show other than an orange jumpsuit.

But for those of us who've watched the show, we have seen women land in prison because of their boyfriend, their spouse and so it has everything to do with this show.

I think it's okay.

I'm almost done, but I still have a thought to express about one of the episodes regarding character development of one of the characters.

After seeing how Crazy Eyes got into trouble. I'm assuming the "kidnapping" must have been the federal charge that landed her in Litchfield. What bothers me the most is that even a decent lawyer would be able to show that Suzanne...has some special needs. Suzanne clearly saw that family as a good family friends even though they didn't. I mean, the mom and Suzanne exchanged high fives in the high fives. It was a horrible tragic mistake. But surely they would have gotten Suzanne into a place where she can get the help she needs.

Just watched Season 4. Better than the borefest that was Season 3. Not as good as the awesome/groundbreaking Seasons 1 & 2. The show seems to have lost its mojo. As if the 1st two seasons were written by a different set of writers than the last two. Also, they keep adding far too many characters without cycling out older minor characters who have served their purpose. Having too many characters to give scenes/dialog to inhibits the actors' ability to develop their characters and get the audience to see them beyond a personality trait or two.

I just finished this season.

Hella powerful. And I do agree with the posters who think this is better than Season 3. I also agree that there are A LOT of characters (e.g. Soso's relevance was primarily being 'the girlfriend').

VOY isn't my favorite series (and I think it has a lot of issues) but I do think Kate Mulgrew is brilliant as 'Red' and I do think she has more range than Patrick Stewart (who seems to think he's in a Shakespeare play with every role he's in) and William Shatner (who doesn't really have any range, save for his very early acting years). Avery Brooks has some range as does Chris Pine....but I haven't seen much range from Scott Bakula. I've only seen his - Bakula's - performance as Archer and from the pilot for The Invaders revival, and I wasn't impressed with either.

Red is one of my favorite characters along with Soso and Poussay. Taystee (sp?) is interesting at times and Cindy is frequently funny, with some of the best lines.

Characters I dislike or are annoyed with: Suzanne (Crazy Eyes)....Piper...Sam Healy...Kaputo and his current girlfriend...all the new guards....

*sigh*

Another year until Season 5....:/

what I didn't like was Caputo's stupid girlfriend. No surprise he falls for toxic women.

I know this makes this more realistic but I hate the new inmates. I have zero desire to go down memory lane with these women. We have such a huge cast I never thought I'd say this but I'm sort of tired of the flash backs until we can wind up some of the smaller cast and dive deeper into the main we care about. And the Martha stewart wanna be? YAWWWN. but like I said, in real life we have people we dislike and you're not going to like everyone or love to hate every one. I just fear season 5 will drag on about the skin heads. who cares?!

On a positive note, I kind of liked that antagonist his name escapes me the giant with the beard. I liked seeing Boo wanting to knock sense into pensatucky. I like Alex's air time for a change and her ensemble of assistance in her plight.

However overall Jengi needs to amp it up or it's going to be long 3 years. So far season 3 of Wentworth blew me away. It makes OITNB watered down. There are a few similar almost stolen themes going on and while I like the dramedy of Oitnb, Wentworth's writing is superior, imo.

I'd rank the seasons: 2, 4, 1, 3.

I agree they had a good cast already but you can't do a satirical show about the prison industrial complex and not discuss overcrowding. I like the moments with the Hawaiian woman.

Piscatelli was a good villain in that when you meet him he seems like just a regular hardass but then you see his draconian attitude toward the prisoners causes abuse and violence. I loved the way they staged a certain tragic event.

I watched some 4 again. it's growing on me. I read your take on the show, Jirin, and I'm nodding in agreement. I loved season 2! my top favorite season so far.

Piscatelli! That's his name. ha, i was drawing a blank. I just think about his beard. 'that bearded guy'.

Well, I dragged it out as long as possible, now just another 11 months before season 5 starts!

I'll miss Poussey, she was a fav of mine since season 1 and especially after the events of season 2. This season was definitely different, but a wonderful reminder about judging others and how the choices we make define who we are.
