As far as the argument "she was lying, not selling drugs", it reminds me of a story a few years ago of a teenager who pretended he had a nuclear bomb and was going to use it in his city. This line from the above article strikes me as odd.

It’s hard to cruise past views of inmates in their underwear (earlier described as "granny panties and thick strapped bras) without feeling a hot flicker of desire.

Really?

Ok, I admit looking at women in their lingerie isn't my cup of tea, but complaining that seeing the characters "in their granny panties and thick strapped bras" was exploitive because it stirred their "desire" makes me think of those rapists who blame victims who were walking down the street in sweaters and mid-length skirts.

This writer is from the other end of the spectrum, but I disagree with several of her assumptions / conclusions about Dogget's "forgiveness" as much as the last writer's desire for granny panties.
