I agree but people love to hear dirt.KiraDax said:
I would hope people would be wise enough NOT to ask her about it. One of the reasons the one-sided lambasting has gone on for so long is fans deliberately asking Mulgrew about it, knowing she'll rise to the opportunity.
If folks want Jeri to be generous enough to do future appearances, I suggest they stay clear of a topic that discomforts her (and would discomfort anyone in her place). Common sense and decency.

Acting chops and charisma don't make one a lady. That's a matter of manners and ethics.
I love how some people try to turn Kate's flaws into Jeri's fault. Accept that she's not perfect...neither are, as humans, but Jeri certainly seems to have one up on the latter two traits I mentioned...and let's all move on and enjoying them both for what they gave us as actors on Voyager.
Please.

This is why according to wang Jeri Ryans not so keen on talking star trek, which may explain why only now is she going to do a convention after how many years absence from them, perhaps someone will ask her about it.
You mean like "bumping Jen Lien off the show" or "climbing into bed with the Producer"?AuntKate said:

Kate doesn't have manners and ethics, but Jeri does? Oh, I love it when people take pot shots and then say, "Let's not take pot shots."
But, oh yes, by all means. Let's all move on.

Yes, let's not take shots or make up falsehoods painting either women as a bitch or a whore.

I was merely suggesting that Jeri might have other motivations besides being a "lady" for not addressing the situation. The fact that the Seven chararcter replaced Kes is a fact, as is Jeri's (now defunct) relationship with Brannon Braga.

What other motivations, exactly? Does Kate have an assassin out to hire in case she opens her mouth and defends herself? I'm not finding any sensible reason she would keep her mouth shut besides hoping to be the bigger person. At this point, I don't think many but the rabid Kate defenders would fault her for flat out being sick and tired of being verbally abused and saying 'Enough'.
Yes, Seven replacing Kes was a fact. It's not a new thing to shows, cast changes, and without rehashing past debates, implying that Jeri shoved Jennifer out the door is ridiculous.
She may have been involved with Braga, but I seriously doubt the man had solo power to sweep other stars out of the way just to make room for his girlfriend. Even if he did have such authority, I find it incredibly hard to believe that Jeri would have willingly taken a role on a show already known for generally leading to career oblivion knowing her intentions would be examined with a microscope.
It's nonsense.

I really don't see how it's fair for people (I'm trying NOT to limit this to Kate fans, however tempted) to perpetually imply that the acrimony about Jeri she constantly flaunts is somehow Jeri's fault.
The politics of entertainment work aside, what precisely has Ms. Ryan ever done personally to Ms. Mulgrew to deserve such scathing dislike and public deriding , from Mulgrew herself or her fans?
I apologize for making a blanket statement, but in *this* particular situation, I think Jeri has expressed dignity and restraint far beyond Kate.

Especially considering she openly admits to turning down the role twice, why would she then turn around and sleep with Braga to get it?
Nope, worked with quite a few people that had on the job relationships between supervisor & co-worker. They never played favorites and there was never any issue of it in any place I worked where this happened. If there ever was or could have been a conflict of interest, another supervisor stepped in to handle the job. In this case, it would be Berman. While I'm sure it happens, it has never been my experance.AuntKate said:

I didn't say she did sleep with him to get it, did I? However, being in a relationship with the boss really skews the interaction with one's peers, don't you think? In my experience, it's always a bad scene and never leads to good feelings all around.
