Karl Urban -- blond or brunet?

So what you are saying is... that we need a picture stat!

One of my favorites. Mmmmm... yummy.

THe more I see this one... the more I like it.

So... I was "watching" Bourne Supremecy (as we do)... and wouldn't you know... just as our Boy Toy comes onto the screen my husband walks in the room.
I then had to pretend I was actually watching the movie (read: "I am only reading Playboy for the articles, honey. I don't even look at the pictures.")

So I kept referring to Boy Toy as "Hot Guy"... cause I actually have no idea why Boy Toy's character is IN the movie. "Why is Hot Guy trying to kill Bourne?" I would say.

(In reality I don't really care WHY he is in the movie... but you know... I needed a cover story. I couldn't let hubby know I was watching the movie purely as porn.)

Then I would ask random questions about the movie and comment on directorial choices -- just to make it seem like I was interested in scenes in which Lust Man didn't appear. (As if.)

So the question is: If I am ever caught watching The Crap That is Doom... what the hell do I use as a cover story?

.

I am feeling very lonely in my opinion that, for what it was (a sci-fi-horror flick), Doom was a pretty good movie. Especially given its source material! And Karl was to die for.

I think my problem with Doom was:
(1) Samantha (nuff said) (But if I were choose to say more I would comment on the stupidity of having that character be his sister, and on the complete lack of performance there. To quote Dorothy Parker, that actress ran the gamut of emotion from A to B.)
(2) I got turned off by the silly-special-effect-hand-being-chopped-off-by-the-door at the beginning. Gratuitis and badly done effect.
(3) Karl is never naked.
(4) The whole "recreation of the game from the player point of view" part. Just didn't flow.
(5) Karl never takes his shirt off.
(6) Backstory hinted at (parents, childhood trauma) but never thoroughly fleshed out.
(7) Karl is never naked.

.

(7) Karl is never naked.

That was a definite drawback, agreed.

Come to think of it, the closest I've seen him naked was Pathfinder. And even Karl-almost-naked isn't worth seeing that movie again.

I will agree with your non-hormonal criticism, but then, I don't expect much from that kind of film, so my standards aren't high. It was well paced and the acting was decent (from the guys, anyway). And Karl's character was a good one. As for the shooter sequence, that was a bow to the fans of the game, so while I didn't like it, I shrugged it off.

Definately agree with all of the above.
I thought Our Boy was good in it... he did what he could with a partially written character and fleshed it out more than another actor might have.
I get why the shooter sequence was there... I just thought it was out of place in terms of the way the rest of the film (to use the term loosely) flowed.
(I tend to over-analyze, I come from a long pre-mommy career in the entertainment industry.)

I admit I would watch DOOM sooner again than I would watch Chronicles of Riddock. He isn't eye-candy enough if the latter.

I have a hard time believing Pathfinder is so bad that it isn't even worth it for a glimpse of naked Karl.
But I will believe you and wonder aloud: Anyone got a still? Or a clip?
You know... I like to judge these things for myself.
Purely for constructive criticism purposes, of course.

Talked hubby into getting Netflix now that we can also watch via the Wii. So tonight I look forward to watching The Price of Milk after the wee ones are in bed.
It will be nice to watch an Urban movie (other than Trek) that is not at least partially covered in excrement.

Price of Milk:
Hmmm.....
It was like one of those epic dreams you wake up from thinking "Wow, that was a neat dream... but what the heck was the deal with "x"?" -- and then you spend the rest of the day trying to figure out what certain details were doing in that dream.
Kinda neat.
I'd watch it again... but I am sorry to say I was not enchanted with Our Boy's hairy bare butt.

Hairy...?

Bare??? Must see.

I kinda figured it would be an odd movie when I saw one of the characters was named after a species of fly.

It is only for a second as he dives down into a vat of milk.
It aint all that attractive. (At least in my opinion.)

As I said, I will probably watch it at some point again. It is lighthearted enough... but it just really feels like one of those meandering dreams.

I just saved this from dropping to the next page.
And the Quinto and Pine threads are hopping.

Yet I am talking to myself...
... obviously alone in my true, undying love for Mr. Urban.*

* Except for crap movies in which he is not good eye candy and I spend the whole film wondering what the hell he was thinking (other than a paycheck) when he chose the project.

I think the biggest problem with keeping this thread going is the fact that we have exhausted our supply of pictures and news on Karl. Hollywood really needs to tap Karl's talent to better effect! Zach and Chris are everywhere right now so their fans have tons to post about. Hopefully that will change soon. Karl deserves more roles.

And speaking of exposure, I have seen and heard more about Zach and Chris in the last month than I have about Karl in the last year. Even last month, I saw a whole photo set with Chris trying on a pair of jeans in a store. What? Jeans? Why? Needless to say, they are being stalked by the paparazzi. Karl is not. (I would be very excited about Karl trying on jeans though.)

But until that happens... here is another repost:

Oh, really?
I guess I don't pay attention to the gossip sites enough... cause I haven't seen anything on either of those guys either.
Oh... wait... I think I did see someting about Pine getting some part.... like taking over a Harrison Ford role? (What am I thinking of??) Oh well.
