Another goodie from the FYDM blog:

Here's an amazing version of Karl Urban as Mirror McCoy:

Yum.

Crikey! That cut's just a little too real and recent looking, it makes me wince.

And it brings out the mother in me, and I don't want to mother Karl!

EDIT:

And since, as always, I can't go to FY Dr McCoy without reading the Karl Urban tag for several pages, here's this:

*happy sigh*

(the way his left arm is angled just out of shot reminds me of people holding up a camera to take their own picture. Imagine this turning up in the Misc forum picture thread! :adore: )

wowza! thanks for the pix! I can carry on and endure the rest of my work day now!

That photo of Karl's McCoy striding with the mood lighting and shadowing is arguably one of THE best cast photos made from the entire film. That would make for one helluva poster!

Hi everybody,
Here I bring the peculiar news to you that it was in Internet, but of being certain, I don´t like that Karl played east role in the cinema, ¿what is your opinion?, sorry for my english...

SECRET IDENTITY: Who Could Play Bruce Banner In 'The Avengers' If Edward Norton Doesn't Return?

Posted 1/29/10 4:16 pm ET by Josh Wigler in Marvel, Secret Identity

Although Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the Hulk is in "The Avengers," there's still no official word regarding Edward Norton's involvement in the film.

While "Incredible Hulk" director Louis Leterrier thinks that the actor's return is possible, it's still worth wondering who could replace Norton as Bruce Banner should the need arise. It would be nice to find a performer that looks and acts like Norton to maintain continuity from Banner's most recent appearance, but I think that it's even more important for a potential replacement to put his own unique stamp on the character.

If Norton decides not to participate in "The Avengers," here are five actors that could easily transform into Bruce Banner in his place.

CILLIAN MURPHY: His cold gaze and lanky frame made Cillian Murphy a perfect fit for the Scarecrow in "Batman Begins," but if taken in a more "heroic" direction, he would work equally well as Banner. Murphy exudes intelligence and repressed rage much like the Jade Giant's human persona, making him an ideal replacement should Norton opt out of future Marvel movies.

GUY PEARCE: Like Murphy, Guy Pearce's physique and general attitude are completely ideal if a new Banner is needed. But Pearce also has the advantage of being close in age and physicality to Norton, which would allow his takeover of the role to move smoothly from "The Incredible Hulk" to "The Avengers."

MICHAEL C. HALL: The "Dexter" star is no stranger to playing the calm and collected blood analyst by day and extreme practitioner of violence by night. As Bruce Banner, Michael C. Hall would have a considerably easier time making the transition between man and monster, as the scientist's transformation into the Hulk can often be as simple as flipping a switch.

KARL URBAN: Fans were initially skeptical of Karl Urban's casting as Bones McCoy in the recent "Star Trek" reboot, but his interpretation of the quirky physician ended up being one of the movie's most celebrated performances in the end. Likewise, I think Urban could bring that surprising adaptability to Banner, a puny sort of character that he's not typically used to playing.

PETER KRAUSE: Hall's "Six Feet Under" co-star is my choice for Rick Grimes in "The Walking Dead," but I actually think he'd be perfect as Bruce Banner, too. As Nate Fisher on the HBO series, Peter Krause's performance often shifted between laid back and overtly intense, something that would bode well with Banner's frequent transformations.

Head to the comments section and Twitter tell us who you think could replace Norton as Bruce Banner in "The Avengers" should the need arise.

Someone on the FYDM blog put up a "poster" of Spock, Kirk and McCoy together using the some of the promos - probably taken at the same time [I've seen others of Kirk and Spock that look about the same].

Now, whether of not this photo did exist, I can understand why it might have not been used. It could be the stance or angle that Zach and Chris have, but Karl striding just seemed to overwhelm both of them in the photo - your eyes are drawn to him and you cannot look away.

I'm here at work, so I hesistant to bring up the FYDM blog - our firewall here is a little touchy - so no link, sorry. ;)

Yeah, but then they realised he wasn't actually meant to be the star!
Sad, but true. :( Hopefully, the famed "triad" of Kirk, Spock and McCoy will be more prominent in the next movie.

^ I think I'm quite okay with McCoy striding about my desktop on his lonesome - no worries!

Karl Urban as Bruce Banner? hmmm.

I didn't see a need for the Edward Norton redo so soon after our own Eic Bana's version but movies houses married to MARVEL gotta eat somehow!

I agree Urban would do very well as Bruce Banner but I think he should turn his hand to someone a little more cerebral. Iaon Gruffold was lovely as MR Fantastic but I think Karl Urban would do that nicely too. Love Jessica A but she was a horrid choice for Sue Storm.

Well, I just noticed that me and Mr. U have something in common (other than the fact we're both Geminis) - a widow's peak!
