Karen Gillan to play Matt Smith's Doctor's Assistant

She seems to have the minimum qualifications necessary to be a Doctor Who companion. Hopefully she can also act and has a compelling back story for her character.

I'm guessing those qualifications are cute, and female. I didn't know there needed to be minimum qualifications to be a companion.

Also, I've liked the guy companions quite a bit, except for Adam who was annoying. Jack and Mickey though, great characters.

Certainly a looker. Thought so when she was in Fires of Pompeii. I expect she can act, they've been pretty good at casting.

Can you tell what color her eyes are? They look dark, as if they were brown, but I can't tell for certain. IN the larger picture of her with the Tardis, they seem grey/blue

Assuming she's not wearing colored contacts...

Her eyes are very definitely brown. The best picture is on the BBC Doctor Who site, which has her looking directly into the camera. The picture everyone's looking at, the one with her head turned, isn't as definitive.
