Kamen Rider and General Tokusatsu

Cosmic Fury was halfway that, reusing Kyuranger mecha footage but otherwise telling an original story. But yes, that does seem to be the idea, a completely original take not based on a Sentai series. At least, I hope it's original, rather than yet another MMPR reboot.

Of course, as we've seen before, just because it's in development doesn't mean it'll actually get made.
True, one can only hope that they do a Original Power Rangers series using Original Suits, Mecha, & Storylines.

They said they'd be doing 5-episode playlists, so it remains to be seen whether they'll be archiving the episodes every Monday, but I hope so.

Seems a bit underwhelming now that we have the full version. Only the middle portion is new. The rest is just padding from the first section.

Nice. I was unimpressed by the song the first time I heard it, but the more I hear it, the more I like it, to the point that it's become one of my favorite toku themes. (That often happens. One of the only themes I loved right away was the Kamen Rider Build theme, "Be the One.") It's got some pretty complex melodies and harmonies, the opening instrumental is striking, and the singers' voices are quite nice.

I'm surprised that the video has nothing to do with the show, even thematically, aside from the shots of the red and green lights on the singers' eyes vaguely suggesting a Rider helmet. The images are pretty generic and bland compared to the show's opening titles.

There’s two versions much like with Gavvs “Got boost” music video. One with the riders and one without. I guess the artists/company want a strictly artist version released

Here’s Zeztz version with him included

A big episode this week, revealing Nem's backstory. It's very much not what I expected.
The shrine in her manager's home at the end made me think Nem was dead, but the preview had a shot of her in a hospital bed. I think she's in a coma, which explains why she's always already in the dream world when Baku arrives -- she's always asleep. It's a tragic twist. Although come to think of it, it was hidden in plain sight in her name, which means "sleep."

I think the ex-wife said the accident was four years ago, and according to her official bio, Nem is 20. So either she hasn't changed since she was 16, or all those video commercials and posters of her are being generated artificially somehow. I wouldn't be surprised to see characters in a Yuya Takahashi series using AI, but it doesn't seem to fit the dream theme here. Could her manager somehow have access to her in the dream world? Could he be working with Nox? Maybe that's why his nightmare puts him in prison, because he's punishing himself. Though Baku isn't convinced he's the Dreamer.

Well, certainly a meaty episode giving us a lot to think about.

When we get to a point where real world Nem wakes up that will be interesting. She probably doesn't know Baku. The bride didn't recognize Baku in public last episode

I guess this confirms that the episodes will go up permanently every Monday. I'm tempted to just start waiting until Monday so I don't have to put up with the ads talking over parts of the livestream (the archived version pauses for the ads), but I feel I should keep watching the livestream, because I want it to perform well and convince Toei and TokuSHOUTsu to keep simulcasting Kamen Rider in the future.
