Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

The whole "wb hates the Snyder cut" thing reads a ton like click bait. Hopefully it isn't true since I still want that suicide squad cut, and even the extended Batman forever!

The Wankers who let Whedon League get released and butchered Suicide Squad to bits don't get to share their opinions on films ever again.

Aren't they (mostly) all new people? Didn't they rush the original JL through because everybody wanted their bonuses before the new bosses came in and shuffled everything around?

So the eternal question will now be - would the Snyder League have made enough money to get the part 2 he wanted...

"Play Cyborg like Quasimodo"? I'm not sure what's supposed to be problematic about that. The analogy makes sense to me. They're both characters that hide in the shadows because they're self-conscious about their deformity, whether it's a hunched back or being a half-robot man.

I'm not sure about General Swanwick. But Iris West was completely edited out of the theatrical cut. And I imagine that Joe Morton's character originally had a lot more screentime.

For the Quasimodo -- wondering if there was a significant difference of interpretation.. Whedon thinking Quasimodo in terms of being the shadows , and ashamed of how he looked (which kinda got that vibe a bit from the theatrical release) . Hopefully thinkin more of the noble yet tragic aspects of the character... FIsher maybe hearing that and thinking of a limping guy that can barely speak (ie. the most unflattering interpretation)

In regards to Iris -- will we get a different type of Barry? Because the theatrical version, he says "i need... friends", which not sure if Whedon made him more socially awkward than Snyder intended.

Also, was Snyder's Barry supposed to have a backstory similar to the new TV version, where he knew Iris for years and was even in foster care through the West family?

If not, and he was always intended to be socially awkward, then at leats in this point in his life, havign a relationship with Iris doesn't seem to make much sense.

And was the scene with Henry Allen added or always there? If it was the latter, then it seemed like they "overdid it" with Barry having TWO personal scenes, whereas it seems like everyone else just got one significant scene with friends or family.

Definitely want to see what the differences are.

Speaking of differences, while I am waiitng, is there any signifcant different of the Batman vs. Superman Ultimate edition that i should watch it , or certain scenes I need to skip to?

Agreed. Anyone who supported Whedon's soulless crap proved they have no understanding of what a superhero film should be.

Devil's advocate, he's not completely wrong demographically where they film in Vancouver (though obviously wrong when talking of Canada as a whole).

Todd Helbing's statement--as quoted--was a generalization about Canada, which at its core, was racially dismissive / mocking of Tucker's concerns.

Exactly. that's not a reshoot.
Reshoots (more commonly known now as additional photography) are when you film new material for a project that has ended principal photography.

Even if you wanted to argue that reshoots and additional photography are distinctly different things, the Leto material is for insertion into the pre-existing Knightmare sequence. Ergo, reshoot.

Quasimodo was mentioned in Buffy.

  • David Fury didn't like the direction the show was going in with regard to Buffy/Spike. To keep viewers from romanticizing their relationship too much, he inserted the line about Quasimodo being unable to truly love Esmeralda, which draws a parallel with Spike being unable to love Buffy without a soul.[3]
But, not by Joss.

i agree with the Quasimodo interpretation, but even the more unflattering interpretation is a legitimate portrayal of Victor Stone when we first met him back in the New Teen Titans. He did not believe that his machine components were a gift, but rather a curse--and he believed that he was horribly disfigured. I can't remember how much that was actually detailed or implied but it was an essential element of his origin story.

As for the BvS extended cut, it doesn't contain any surprises as such but it does connect the dots of Lois' investigation and makes the story more coherent and logical. Luthor's plan makes more sense as do his motivations.
