Why can't Diana go back to Themyscira (sp)? I haven't seen Wonder Woman since it first came to theaters, so my memory of it isn't very good.
I was expecting her to go back after she found out Steppenwolf had taken the Amazon's Mother Box and after she saw the big warning fire. So I was a bit surprised when we got all the way through the movie, and she never went back or made any effort to find out how her mother and the other Amazons were doing after Steppenwolf's attack.
I've seen a lot of people talking about how disjointed JL was and how it felt like two movies mashed together, but I didn't really see that at all.

As she's about to depart for Man's World, Hippolyta says that if she leaves she can never return ("Who will I be if I stay?"), but it wasn't elaborated if it's law or magic preventing her return.

^ Actually, Hipppolyta says, "You may never return," which is much more ambiguous. It could indeed mean, "You can never return," but it could also simply mean, "You might never return."

Ok, thanks. I was thinking there was something more specific about her being prevented from ever entering the Themyscira again.

59 percent drop for justice league from weekend 2 to 3, ending all hope for the movie having legs and ending up profitable (assuming budget numbers are true). The dceu is hanging on a thread.

Box Office Mojo has total world wide gross currently at $567,435,921.
Damn, wish it was higher.

Me too though the international gross is still ticking along nicely we are probably looking at something around $650 million (maybe a little higher so WB *may* end up losing nothing but there going to generate virtually zero initial profit). I was just reading an article from Screen Rant and my displeasure for WB grows and the blame for them seems to get higher & higher...

Snyder’s original plan was to claim that the three Mother Boxes contained Steppenwolf’s actual mother, Heggra. It was the communion of the three that united Heggra’s power, and would grant Steppenwolf power enough to conquer an entire planet. Now from a DC Comics perspective, this is some serious re-writing of the existing mythology. In the comics, Heggra was Steppenwolf’s sister, and mother to Darkseid. She was also the person Darkseid had to kill along with his father before taking the throne of Apokolips.

Having failed to conquer Earth with the power of his Mother Boxes, Steppenwolf was forced to retreat, leaving them behind. His mission, as stated in the film, is to recover the Boxes, conquer Earth as he intended, and only then join the ranks of the New Gods, putting an end to his exile from Apokolips and Darkseid. Which all leads to the original ending, when Superman returns from the dead to defeat Steppenwolf with the rest of the League….

At which point Steppenwolf is forced to retreat yet again, and return to Apokolips with his tail between his legs. Darkseid, twice displeased, kills his general and pledges to meet this “Kryptonian” himself.

WB decision to axe some of the Mother Box mythology hurt Steppenwolf as a villain and also setting up Darkseid would of helped in my opinion. WB allowed Whedon to change too much and the studio running time limit removed far too much of either directors work but most likely more Synder stuff.

If that’s how it was supposed to go, then consider me disappointed to have missed out. I liked the film as is but I’d have preferred more of what I got in MoS and BvS (Ultimate Cut). Oh well.

I'm looking forward to the tell-all documentary about all the behind the scenes stuff 20 years from now. :D

It does seem like it might make a better movie than the one we got and WB really should clean house after this screw up. I starting to get annoyed by all the comments I keep seeing online on other sites that Snyder is largely at fault, it seems like he loss JL way before the editing room/re-shoots. He had to leave because of the awful tragedy he and his family suffered but WB did not have to make drastic reshoots and massive cuts in the editing room.

I thought WB games division was awful but their movie division is giving them a run for their money.

Yes, the Villain is one-note and just there to be the foil and be powerful enough to give the entire group the need to come together, and work together to stop him/save the world. <--- And that type of plot is nothing new to either WB DCEU or Disney marvel films.

True--most modern superhero films just toss in a villain just to get the heroes to work together--often, many villains lack character in their "group motivational" role.

Every character had his 'moment' in the film and I'm thankful that they didn't go into all the new origin stories (via flashback as Snyder loves to do) - and each got a mention of how/why they have the abilities they do in ways that worked for the story.

Barry above the other first-timers, with the sub-plot of his father, and the need to make more of himself than he thought possible (with his self-doubting/hermit nature).

I also liked the bits of character development both Batman and Wonder Woman got - it worked well for the story.

Diana and Bruce's scenes were particularity interesting in how comfortable they have become with each other--even in moments of tension.

To that, I also don't see Ben Afleck 'phoning it in'. he seemed to be playing the charter the way he has since he took the role, and it was fine. I hope he decides to stick with it. I also love how they did Cyborg, and liked the actor playing him.

Agreed; some were looking for reason to tear down the anchor of the film, but had no legitimate reason.

All in all, I thought it was an enjoyable film. I hope WB doesn't shelve the DCEU, but time and box office will tell.

Overall, the DCEU has made a significant amount for the studio, so I do not see anything less than some suit kneejerking to the internet/critic rabble leading the end of the DCEU.

Just for fun, here are some of the plot questions I read around the web.
These are just my opinions and not taken as official answers.

- Why Stephenwolf did invade now?
The first invasion could be random. Since Earth won, the Motherboxes wait til we are hopeless. With wars, plagues, slavery, and all manner of human atrocities happening for the past centuries, why now and not then. Well, many tragedies affect part or most of the world, not all. There are parts of the world that are unaffected even by WW2. Superman's death affected the whole world. Superman's arrival means we are not alone. With a large part of our military destroyed by the Enchantress, and the death of Superman, all of Earth is royally screwed if aliens decide to invade. That fact cause fear, sadness, and hopelessness to all the world.

- Why Stephenwolf found 2 Motherboxes so easily, but not the 3rd.
I think Stephenwolf only found them if they are activated. When each Motherbox is activated, it took time before he shows up. In Themyscira, there was enough time to warn Queen Hippolyta, and for her to arrive at that temple before he showed up. They left the box sitting on the pedestal, only sending extra guards to fight. Same with Atlantis. The one is Star Labs was moved after its initial activation. That's why parademons are searching around Star Labs and kidnapping employees to find it. Stephenwolf found the last box when the League activated it to resurrect Superman.

- Why did the JL left the last box unguarded after resurrecting Superman?
They were busy fighting Superman. My guess is they think Stephenwolf did't know where it is and the box is still safe in the Kryptonian ship. Only after they saw the boomtube, they realize their mistake.

- How Aquaman knew to go to Atlantis and Gotham to fight Stephenwolf?
When Aquaman rescued the sailor, he was babbling about aliens. At first Aquaman thought the guy was just traumatized, until he saw the alien blood on his hands. The sailors description of the aliens match the parademons, so he knew it was Stephenwolf and went to Atlantis to fight. After Stephenwolf took the Motherbox, Mera convince Arthur to go after him. He went to Gotham because Bruce visited him earlier asking for help to fight the parademons. It was lucky chance he came right on time to save the League.

- Why did Cyborg wear clothes sometimes, but not other times.
Okay, I saw this one on a youtube review, and thought it was stupidly obvious. He wears clothes to hide his robot body. If anyone sees him, either through a window, or at a distance, he would not draw attention to himself. Also he most likely hate looking at his robot parts, so he covers up much of it. He takes off his normal clothes when he goes into battle, so his clothes wouldn't be damaged.

- Why did Cyborg say the Motherbox was activated when Superman died, but we see footage of its activation in Batman v Superman?
No clue. Anyone have a possible explanation? Or a plot hole or soft reboot?

Any other plot points, plot holes, or questions out there?
