Just discovered "Weeds"

I just recently caught up with this show too. I watched seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix Instant and had to go rush out THAT NIGHT and buy season 3 on DVD since it was unavailable on Instant. I went back and rented season 4 on Blu-Ray and was a little bit non-plussed with the way the show went in that season.

I know they're trying to make the stakes bigger but I really don't like Esteban's character and really have no reason to think that he and Nancy would ever have a love affair with him. I mean it just moved so quickly and just never understood why she would fall in love with the guy.

I've watched the first few episodes of Season 5 and yeah, I'm just not feeling it yet.

Whatever the case may be, I miss the days back at Agrestic.

That's why I think the more I hear about how the show turns out, that either they are going to just end the series with her riding off into the wild blue yonder. She's going to go to jail. She'll die. Or she'll go full circle and it up in a place like Agrestic.

And then find out that the whole series was pretty much told from the perspectives of Doug, Nancy, Andy, and Celia with Shane video taping it. And going "Man this is going to be an AWESOME TV show!"

I've enjoyed all of the seasons. I liked season 4 quite a bit(the jewish wake was a fucking riot)and i am really enjoying 5 well.
Sure, i was sad to see the main story line from the first three seasons go, but once i accepted that it was gone i learned to enjoy it for what it was.

I've watched the series from season 1 to the latest episode and I've found myself enjoying it less. There are still some truly great episodes and some great scenes in not-so-great episodes but as a whole, I think the series has gone off-track and in another direction than I expected or would have liked to see it go.

I don't know about this show. I'm on the fence.

I've only watched the first season, and while it is okay, it is certainly nothing to write home about. Little more than a time filler for me.

The only character on this show who I truly love is Elizabeth Perkins' character (Elizabeth Perkins is a brilliant actress, IMO - always has been). The character of Nancy is okay (although not what I would call 'gripping'), and I like the woman who is her pot supplier. But Silas is pretty annoying, Andy is REALLY annoying, and the rest of the characters on the show are kinda stereotypical 'meh' caricatures, IMO.

I might eventually consider watching season 2...but if it does not improve, I'm out. As Showtime shows, go, Dexter it is NOT.

YMMV, but that is my view after watching season 1.

I saw the first season a few years ago when Sky One aired it, but then I got rid of Sky and never saw season 2 and beyond, but Sky Three have been showing it on Freeview so I'm just catching up with season 2 now, I've got Cooking with Jesus through to A Pool and His Money on my PVR.

PKTrekGirl, I think Andy's evolution may be the one positive improvement anyone who has watched the show from the start can agree on. Yes, for the first few seasons he was little more than a womanizing goofball, but it's amazing how much the character has matured and naturally become more important and a very eloquent voice of reason in the last two seasons.

I thought the first few seasons had much stronger plots, cliffhangers, and characters (I really miss Conrad and his crew/family and they were definitely better supporting players than the Mexicans in season 5), and the plot was wearing a bit thin in season 5 (especially towards the end), but by this point I love the characters so much that I don't care.

There were a lot of weird and somewhat disappointing things going on plot-wise and character-wise in season 5, but no matter what, I always enjoy spending time with these characters, so I will continue watching them in season 6. I've pretty much always hated Shane and Silas, but in the last two episodes of season 5, they actually impressed me for once.

Ive always liked Shane. The ending for season five was pretty kickass. Cant wait to see how his character progresses from this point.
As it is i think they've done a great job showing how he has progressed from late childhood in the teen he is now, and maybe gives us a glimpse of the adult he will become. I think his is the most well thought out character evolution on the show. Andy is all sorts of awesome too, but Shane has really developed.

I watched about 6 episodes today, I'll try and finish season 2 tomorrow, then I might wait till season 3 has been shown and just marathon it again.

Andy really does grow throughout the show, but at the same time doesn't at all, just look at this season's finale.

No matter how stupid or bad the show get's it's still somewhat enjoyable, I don'tt know how they do it.

Well, this is good to hear, because as of the end of season 1, he is just plain annoying. Your basic stereotypical womanizing mooch who thinks way more of himself than anyone thinks of him.

In short, he reminds me of all the men I've ever known IRL who turned out to be jerks, all rolled up into one super-annoying character.
