Just discovered Smallville

I just started watching this show, and I'm really liking it. I don't know why it took me so long to find it. I've been renting the show on Netflix and am about half way through the second season.

Two observations, one it really reminds me of the X-Files. Am I the first one to notice this? Seems pretty striking, but I've never heard anyone mention it. Not that that is a bad thing, I loved the X-Files.

Two, Lex does not seem to be such a bad guy. I know he's got to become evil in order to fulfill Superman mythos, but it seems a shame, I really like the character as he is.

Lex isn't meant to be a bad guy at the start. He and Clark are friends. This is done on purpose for the series and a homage to the Silver Age friendship between Superboy and Lex.

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying it's to bad he has to become evil. I really like the character as he is. Ex bad boy trying to make good, going against his evil corporate father. I like him, and I will be despondent when he goes all evil.

I started Smallville back in February and I am near the end of the 6th season, which I've enjoyed thanks to a expanding recurring cast. The show sometimes suffers from poor guest actors, lazy plot devices and the monster of the week/Kryptonite has so many properties angle.

The Clark/Lex relationship is superb and the acting of Michael Rosenbaum is terrfic. Chloe is a geeks dream ;) cute, smart, funny and is a great sidekick. The show is amazing when it touches upon the DC Universe itself and I cannot wait to see how season 7-10 goes.

Strangely enough, it appears they are reshowing the pilot episode this friday in it's normal time slot.

The friendship between Clark and Lex is arguably one of the best things the show did. Yep, have always said that the best episodes on the show are the homages, episodes that directly deal with the DCU.

It's not strange that they're reairing the pilot. This has been known since last December and has been talked about by us in the hiatus threads, etc.

I really wish they would had done better by Lana...Kristin Kreuk is wonderful and they totally destroyed her character. You'll see. :(

don't listen to them and just enjoy the show . You'll love the second season ender . one of my personal favorite's . and if you are a lana fan wait till you get to season 4.

Oh no! That does not sound good.

To be fair they ruined all the characters. :(

I enjoy it and when I had the DVDs Seasons 1-7 I watched like a disc a day. If I can ever get the money I want to buy the series box-set when it comes out in the fall or winter.

Somewhere around season 6 the show becomes unbearable silly, but I liked a lot of the first few years.

It's a ok show if you don't mind all the liberties they took with the characters....
but then I like science fiction & fantasy.... reality suc*ks... I'd much rather be in
the places I read or watch in science fiction....

How many years has this show been on?

I'm halfway through season 2, so I'm glad I have plenty of good stuff left to watch. I'm really loving it to this point.

Clark.

Chloe/Allison Mack was in 5 eps the 10th season and will be in the finale with Lex/Michael Rosenbaum...Martha/Annette O'Toole & Johnathan/John Schneider have been & will be in eps this season...and Lionel/John Glover was in a few eps in season 10.

Just keep watching the series. ;)

[edit] Lois/Erica Durance is still around...but she didn't arrive until S4. Oliver(Green Arrow)/Justin Hartley didn't become a regular until S8(Started in S6) along with Cassidy Freeman/Tess(S8)...are still around.
