"Journey to Babel" Line-by-Line

CoveTom

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Greetings!

We've recently concluded our "Sins of the Father" Line-by-Line thread over in the TNG forum!

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was leandar! And leandar has chosen "Journey to Babel" as our next line-by-line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

Enjoy!

[Kirk's Quarters]

MCCOY: Dress uniforms, spit and polish. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to stand this. I feel like my neck's in a sling.

Kirk: The Vulcans are the last delegates we have to pick up. As soon as we get them aboard, we'll be able to relax.

McCoy: Sure. A formal reception tonight, a hundred and fourteen delegates aboard for two weeks, thirty two of them ambassadors, (Spock joins them) half of them mad at the other half, and the whole lot touchier than a raw antimatter pile over this Coridan question.

Chekov (on com): Shuttlecraft arriving with Ambassador Sarek's party, estimate arrival one minute.

[Hangar Deck and Outside Corridor]

VOICE: Clear hangar deck. Clear hangar deck. Depressurizing. Recovering shuttlecraft.

(The shuttlecraft arrives.)

VOICE (continuing): Hangar deck pressurizing.

Congrats, Tom!

Back to our regularly scheduled thread. Finishing the above line...

(Spock shows him the salute, McCoy tries it)

McCoy: That hurts worse than the uniform.

moving on...

(Sarek & Amanda approach)

Kirk: Captain James Kirk.

Kirk: Our pleasure, madam. As soon as you're settled I'll arrange a tour of the ship. Mr. Spock will conduct you.
