News Jon Hamm Pursuing Batman role-report

NOOOO, he can't be Batman, that means he wouldn't be able to be Superman in the 1938 set Superman Movie that no one thinks is a good idea but me.

I'm also surprised given that he has been reluctant in the past to do superhero roles, despite looking the part.
He famously called the contracts for superhero movies "Draconian", but I suppose he could change his mind.

I prefer Batman as an older guy. Makes him a hell of a lot more interesting on a number of fronts. And the superhero pantheon can use an old boxer who won't put down the gloves.

We have to thank Frank Miller for that, I suppose. Fuck.

That's Wildcat. Or several JSA members.

So Flashpoint could be used as a Days of Future Past, but for the DCEU.

Yes, but it could go further. I don't know if I would actually do Flashpoint completely. I would want to fix it so heroes are the same ages. Bruce would have had to have been born later. Same life--so that would mean all those around him as well--born later.

I definitely don't see Hamm as Batman, though I can see him as Bruce Wayne. But as I have posted around these parts before, Hamm would make a much better (American) James Bond than Batman.

From what I hear, he'll cut quite a figure in those tights. Warners better keep those CG artists who drsappeared Cavill's 'stache standing by.

I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it, I think that might work nicely. Hamm can do comedy and we KNOW that he can play a functional alcoholic. :)

When I first saw him I thought he’d make a great Napoleon Solo in a Man from UNCLE reboot. Of course that part went to Henry Cavill (opposite Armie Hammer, who was almost Batman), who also appeared in Mission Impossible 6, with Tom Cruise, who was almost Napoleon Solo...

I could also totally see him as Dick Tracy.

On topic, I don’t think the site reporting this story is a well-reputed one, nor does the story read convincingly. Hamm would’ve made a great superhero, be it Batman or Superman but I suspect that the next Batman will be a bit younger.

It's funny how even though the story isn't that old...Flashpoint seems to be the biggest story on everyones' minds.

Why is that?

^ Maybe because we're all waiting for the next big "Crisis" to undo everything Flashpoint did and shatter the continuity AGAIN, like DC always does whenever a new Crisis comes along.
