Did he time travel to do so? There's no script yet.Variety is reporting that Joe Cornish no longer attached to Trek 3:

Sounds like he read the script and bailed.

And we wouldn't be getting TOS and TNG on blu ray or any Prime Trek tie in novels if Abrams had it his way. That waters down his brand. Good thing that CBS essentially told him to fuck off. Apparently you can't do JJverse fan films. So if Abrams was in full control, they'd probably stop stuff like Phase II or Renegades as well.
I bet he wouldn't.Bring back Leonard Nimoy, I bet he would do it if the price was right.
Even with the admiration and appreciation for those names and their respective work I have, I find the idea of fresh blood more and more appealing now.I bet he wouldn't.Bring back Leonard Nimoy, I bet he would do it if the price was right.
Agreed. He's mostly retired at this point, and in his 80s. Directing a major tentpole film is not an easy job.
I bet Nicholas Meyer would do it, but his directing career is more or less over at this point (he's been solely a screenwriter for over a decade).
Very unlikely.I wonder if Orci ends up directing it?
Source? It's not that I doubt it, but it would be better for either of you to provide an authoritative source. And we wouldn't be getting TOS and TNG on blu ray or any Prime Trek tie in novels if Abrams had it his way. You do know that has all pretty much been debunked?
You mean like JJ Abrams? It's common enough for screenwriters to get into directing, but, as with Kurtzman, they usually start out directing films with modest budgets and/or television to gain experience before getting a big budget franchise film.
Exactly like J.J. Abrams, who had directed a lot of television, including some of the most cinematic big budget pilots in television history, before being tapped to direct a big budget franchise movie. Note that I said "they usually start out directing films with modest budgets and/or television."You mean like JJ Abrams?
