That sounds like hyperbole that isn't based on any actual knowledge. He even acknowledges a lack of knowledge, so the dramatic statement is puzzling. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I don't read the magazine often enough to know the big names.

The 10 x 60 rumour turned out to be false sadly. It's 1 x 60 & 9 x 50; so just a tiny but longer than what we've had for the last few series.

Reading the Radio Times story again Walsh is the only one who's actually called a Companion.
Given the claims about how radical a change this is going to be I wouldn't take anything for granted at this point.
The article on the BBC site seems to imply that all three of them are companions. Not knowing anything about the actors themselves, I have no comments on them. But I do like the idea of having a full TARDIS team travelling with the Doctor, so I have no complaints.
I'm thrilled by both the casting of Bradley Walsh (I loved him in Law & Order: UK) and multiple companions! But not just multiple companions, but two male companions and one of them is the old enough to remember watching William Hartnell while growing up. I don't think I'm familiar with the other two actors, but I could be wrong once I look them up.
Good to know a rough idea when the season will start and it's no surprise it's in the autumn. Spring was a very unlikely possibility.

Looks like Chibnall definitely wants to do things a bit differently. Whatever else people may throw at him (and I can hear the faint sound of idiots yelling about PC and SJWs off in the distance), he's not afraid to put his own stamp on the show.

(Trust me, no one in the uk, no one, is going to complain about his casting for political reasons. And I doubt many would be fussed about the other two either...possibly because they aren’t big names, but largely because any who viewers left who have issues with melanin content would have been seen off by Martha years ago. So I wouldn’t worry too much about having people frothing at the mouth.
Will make a change to have a Male London voice as a regular on the show....closest I can recall was poor old Mickey, and he didn’t travel for long.)

I've never even heard of Mandip Gill before this evening, and I think I already have a slight crush on her.
I wonder if his ITV gigs are something Chibnall will have to work around. If they're filming out of order, which is something of a standard operating procedure on Who these days, I imagine they could bank all of his scenes for his availability.

Tosin Cole played Lt. Bastian, one of the Red Squadron pilots in The Force Awakens. Aside from Poe, Nien Nunb, and Jessice Henwick's character (and only because I know her work), I don't remember any of the pilots, so I'm guessing his role was pretty tiny.
For all of those people complaining about Bradley Walsh's casting, I have to point in the direction of Catherine Tate. So many people complained about her casting and most of those people now love Donna.

Certainly didn't expect another crowded Tardis but am very pleased about this development. I thought an older Ian-type male companion would be an interesting companion to give the new Doctor and it looks like they're going to do just that. I'm still not a of the Doctor being a woman (I think the Doctor is a man like Wonder Woman is a woman) but I like this development very much.
I liked Jodie Whittaker in Attack the Block. I think it would be a nice change to see a woman as Dr. Who.
I got the feeling one of the three new companions is going to pull an Indira Varma in 'Torchwood' - in that they'll be heavily advertised as a companion only for some first episode 'twist' to take them out of the ballgame. A fun way to keep the fans on their toes though, in this era of post-GoT no character is safe deal, it kinda is expected! lol
I like the idea of the Doctor having multiple companions, but I wonder if it's going to be a case that she'll rarely have all three at the same time. Some stories, she might have only one or two with her maybe?
