Who are your favourite Doctors?

I haven't even SEEN Capaldi as the Doc, but as he was so great in TORCHWOOD, I'm promoting him to third place on eccentric principles.;)

Capaldi is really good from what I've seen of him in the show. He definitely wanted it more than anyone else from what I've read. The problem again is the writing. When it's good, he's excellent. When it's bad, he can't salvage it (and nor could he be expected to).

I only saw the series from Eccleston to the first season of Whittaker and my two favorites were Eccleston and Smith. Capaldi was a close third though considering the storyline with River Song, which looking back and revisiting clips of it on Youtube over the last few years was probably the strongest storyline of that entire era.

Are those the same Doctors from the TV show?

well i would say to me in my opinion its a yes and no because what if when the show 1st got axed in 1989 and then returned in 2005 there must have been many doctors between 1989 and 2005 in the comics hardcovers paperbacks and audios verisons from the doctor who 1963 era aka doctor who classic while at the same time during the off screens in the audios comics paperbacks and hardcovers between 1963 and 1989 when doctor who was still on tv there must have been other actors and maybe even actress playing as the doctor

then when the show returned in 2005 during the off screens when doctor who 2005 was still on tv there must have been other actors and actresses playing as the doctor in the audios comics paperbacks and hardcovers

its just like the companions like how many were there in the tv shows movies audios hardcovers paperbacks and comics for 60 years since 1963

No, for the most part the tie-in material stuck to the televised Doctors during the wilderness years, with the Seventh Doctor serving as incumbent Doctor until switching to the Eighth in 1996. There was an attempt to launch a new Doctor with Richard E Grant in Scream of the Shalka in 2003, but that was quickly abandoned because RTD began developing the television revival. Although the Grant Doctor was acknowledged a couple years ago in Rogue.

Problem is Steve had a great idea mid season, having already planned a complex season. Capaldi was great, b itut had to think long term .

I've seen some spotty episodes of old Doctor Who and a majority of the new one.

For the new one it would be; 12, 11, (both are tied; though in hindsight, 12 seems better because for me, it feels like a bookend to the new series),10, I didn't get on board for 9, then 13 (I did see most of her run) and 14 (tied), and Gatwa/15 - which I entirely missed because things didn't feel right anymore.

For the old ones, of the ones I've seen, it would be some episodes of 3, 4, 5, and through many distractions I have not seen much of the rest, though I have seen some parts of the movie, and then the 50th special with John Hurt at the theater when it came out.
