We aren't the same people who said such stupidity.Whenever the Moffat era took breaks people called for the actual death of him.
Chibnall announces a break, and reading this whole thread you all are perfectly fine with it.
What happened?
I feel like people are willing to give Chris Chibnall a pass for anything, even if Series 12 only had 6 episodes, each featuring Teeth Face, because they still hold an irrational hatred for Steven Moffat for staying on longer than he should have.
It's like Rick Berman again, but with Doctor Who.![]()

I feel bad about the entire Doctor Who production team. I hope this gap year was announced before people signed on to do the show so they have projects to do before filming begins in early 2020.
Honestly I think the BBC wants Doctor Who to fail to save money. "Penny Wise Pound foolish"
True, though I would point out the AI figures are comparatively poor so there is objective evidence that this is the opinion of a lot of people. That’s an opinion, not a fact.
Most of people working in this business are freelancers.........so not a big deal, AND I think you read things wrong. Filming will begin after the holidays in early 2019......it just won't AIR until 2020.I feel bad about the entire Doctor Who production team. That would be fair criticism. The first episode was a masterpiece of effectively setting up the series. Very well written. Episodes 2-4 were utter crap!Someone recently posted an old review of the second episode of the Hartnell era, and apparently the sky has been falling ever since then.
That is the good side to it for sure. The characters were the highlight of the season for me.That sucks, but least this confirms that Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole are all returning (per the BBC press release), so that's something at least.
Hell, that's more episodes than Game of Thrones last season.
Nah, there are just as many Chibnall haters as there were Moffat haters and as many as Davies haters. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
It's annoying and suggests everyone involved are struggling to get all their ducks in a row.
Also worrying that even with a truncated number of episodes and a new production team they're still struggling to meet an annual schedule. And yes we've had these sorts of gaps before, but the TV landscape is changing. Netflix will make dozens of shows in the time to takes Who to return.
