Jerry Doyle (Mr. Garibaldi from Babylon 5) has passed beyond the Rim

Very sorry to hear the news about Jerry Doyle's passing. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

RIP Jerry. Shocked that he's gone so young. 60 is no age, and he should've had many more years.

The early deaths of so many of the B5 cast is frightening. I still can't get over Richard Biggs 12 years ago. Guy wakes up in the morning, kisses his wife, gets out of bed, and drops on the floor.

It's been a truly God awful year.

What the hell... the Babylon 5 curse strikes again...

Richard Biggs: 2004 (aged 44)
Andreas Katsulas: 2006 (aged 59)
Jeff Conaway: 2011 (aged 60)
Michael O'Hare: 2012 (aged 60)
Jerry Doyle: 2016 (aged 60)

Compare that to TNG and DS9 where everybody from the main cast is still alive today!

I guess Boxleitner and Jurasik can really consider themselves lucky... they're both 66 now.

RIP Jerry Doyle.

So sad. And such an interesting character outside of acting. Few realize that acting was less a career and more a hobby for him after he retired from a successful and extremely lucrative stockbroker career.

My second post on TrekBBS in a long time, and it's to acknowledge this sad news!

Thanks for being a part of an amazing time in sci-fi TV history, Jerry!

What a sad loss. B5 really has had some bad luck with deaths amongst the cast.

Jerry Doyle was great in the role.

"It is good to have friends, is it not, Mr. Garibaldi? Even if, maybe, only for a little while?"
"Even if only for a little while."

"I've got it. I've got it. I've got it. It's right here. It's right here."
"Do not thump the book of G'Quon. It is disrespectful."

"I really hate it when you get heroic. Cuts into my business. A man's got to earn a living, you know."

"Ambassador Kosh has been a busy boy today."
"They say God works in mysterious ways."
"Maybe so. But He's a con man compared to the Vorlon."

"Maybe somebody should've labelled the future 'some assembly required'".

"I don't want you to be sorry. I don't need your pity. I don't need anybody's pity. All I know is that I'm tired of being controlled. Controlled by others, by fear, by my past, by what everybody else expects of me and it's enough. Enough. And this? [points at the bottle] This is my own private little act of rebellion, yeah. I may not be able to control what other people do to me, but I can at least be in control what I do to myself"

Funny and dramatic stuff, all brought to life and enriched by Jerry.

Hugo - we will miss you Mister Garibaldi :(

RIP, Jerry Doyle. :(

I finally started watching the show for the first real time this year and finished the entire run only a few months ago. I liked the Mister Garibaldi character a lot and what he brought to the show.

Sad, sad news.

Always extra-sad and shocking when it's so sudden. He was one of my favorite parts of B5.

Coincidentally, I thought of Garibaldi just this morning as I was getting dressed: "fasten, then zip"!

The Fasten than Zip conversation is still one of my all time favorite conversations on any show. It was so random, but so revealing how much of friends Sinclair and Garibaldi were.

RIP Jerry Doyle.

Can't believe B5 has lost another one. :(
