A huge percentage of people's complaints about the opposite gender is that they aren't like their own gender. And yet people persist in their heterosexuality, never wanting to even have a go at getting what they want that exists so freely in the gender that they don't want.

How come more news about this hasn't come out? How come Trek Today or some other Star Trek source hasn't reported this? This happened in July, yet the thread was created, when, late October? I know it's out of the limelight, but if anyone trek related did this act, wouldn't that be considered "big news"? How come in 3 months time, we don't know more?

This isn't news, it's gossip.

Unless she was drunk, or on drugs or hit him with a frying pan until he went into a coma, it's a dirty joke and not something noteable.

It's really sexist, but most men don't believe that women can hurt them, and if they react too adversely to being whupped by a girl, then they're a "wussy", or even worse a "girl"... So when they're standing there with a broken nose after picking a fight they thought they had in the bag, they tend to overreact because the universe has been lying to them for the last thousand years.

There was a line on the West Wing from Bradley Whitford in a room of mixed gender full of powerful and distuished movers and shakers "You can't beat me up, you're like a girl... And by that I do mean an 8 year old girl in knee socks with pigtails. There is on the other hand many women that I am truely terrified and intimidated by who can pull me apart."

It's a bad economy.
Many good people are under allot of stress due to it.
While its just speculation, this could be a very good possibility this could have been the cause for her to make a poor choice.
Much like the Kes we saw in "Fury", how ironic is it that Jen Lien has forgotten herself and lost her way?

However, we as fans can help.
Instead of saying how sad it is, write to her via her fan club.
I'm sure hearing from her fans and seeing the outpouring of how we care will do wonders to lift her spirit and give her what she may need, hope.
