Shameless is excellent, last season was a high point! You just have to make toast during the storylines that get dumb (any romance with Fiona.. they actually had none for the last season yay!

Oh the mother, wow.. actually both the dad and mother remind me so strongly of a couple I knew for years, they even look like them, it was often disturbing to watch and hear the stuff coming out of the mom's mouth in particular which rang too true.

She either sabotages something vaguely decent or falls for assholes with sorta hidden problems.

I really loved Shameless, it got all swampy for a bit but it came back very strong. Going to rewatch the ones with Lien's son (they were hilarious).

Everytime someone comes up with some real nasty and insulting comments about the character Kes and/or the actress Jennifer Lien and I start to defend the character/actress, I'm the one who's hung out and declared the "bad guy of the show" while the one who comes up with the not so nice comments get away with it.

In all fairness we're not talking about a fictional character in this case. I'm referring to comments you've made about other posters who have done nothing but post an opinion about a fictional character or some anecdote about an actress that doesn't go along with your beliefs.

I'm actually talking about a living person too. A person who had the bad luck of being fired from Star Trek Voyager and who obviously has messed up her life a lot but still deserves better than being trashed fromt ime to time

She is a public figure people can and will post negative things about her. That is the nature of fame. And nobody here trashed her. Saying she was less than friendly to one person in high school is not trashing her. I think you are taking this way too far. You seem overly sensitive about her.

I feel sorry for her. Not only because Kes is my favorite Voyager character but also because for the waste of talent.

it's the same with some of my favorite rock stars who have ended up wrong and for some people I've encountered in real life too. I feel sorry for them as well.

I do to. She has clearly had a rough time. Though it started many years after her departure from Voyager and she has worked since then so I disagree very strongly with your previous post blaming all of her issues on leaving the show

I do have a feeling that being kicked out from Voyager was a major setback for her which can have affected her in a negative way. Sort of "it all started there".

But I also wonder if something really negative happened in recent years as well. There was that interview at startrek.com a couple of years ago when she did seem quite happy with her life and then all of a sudden she's in Tennessee having problems with the law.

But all that is pure speculation and theorizing.

Indeed it is all speculation. The reason i don't think it has anything to do with voyager is because what happened to her is standard practice in hollywood and something she woukd have been prepared for. It's like taking a temp job. You are told it's for a certain period of time. At the end of that time they keep you longer or they let you go. You know that going in when you accept the job.
