I'm assuming she ignored the letter, which is why she knew they were coming, and why it took 3 days.
This smells of pride.
This smells of pride.
You know what I want to know? Where is her family? And why have they left her there on purpose?
If you do a Google search of her, on the side it links to her husband (and son, though he's just 13) both of whom have credits from 2015 in their IMDb profiles. She's still apparently married to her husband, and while it doesn't give any context or information, her mother seems to be alive and in the picture - she's likely only in her 60s. The bail was set at $2500, and in most cases you only need to put up 10% of that. But she was arrested Sept 4, and when this all hit the news it was the 14th or so and she was still in jail.

Logically, one can only deduce that it seems her family has opted to leave her there. Perhaps for her own safety? Perhaps for theirs? Perhaps in the hope of the system intervening with the probable mental health help she needs?
Granted, we can't know the exact status and details of her family connections, nor their financial states. So this is just assumption based on circumstantial evidence. But I know if one of my relatives was in jail, I'd have put up the money to get them out sooner - unless I was at my wits end and grateful they where locked up and unable to do more harm in the world. Which is why I think this is the case here; that they're letting her stay there because they don't know what else to do.
Sadly, the correctional system in our country - especially on a rural county level - is beyond capable of helping someone with any serious mental illness. So all it's really doing is keeping her out of more trouble, not getting her any help.
I saw this story on the Daily Mail yesterday if her name hadn't have been in the headline there is no way I would have recognised her.
