Jennifer Lien In Legal Trouble Again

Clearly the neighbour is not a fan of Lien and a flash of boobage while the kids are around is a golden revenge moment. Lien did a stupid thing and the neighbour took advantage of it.

My point though is that...

1) Lien still did do something wrong even if provoked.
2) The police surely have enough common sense to differentiate between a one-off act of stupidity and a sex threat (even in the small towns of middle America).

If she ends up on some sex register for the rest of her life then by all means, let's start threads about how dumb America is.

But let's not pretend that this would be a major crime everywhere in the world either.

Remind me, where in the world is an adult flashing children NOT viewed as a serious crime?
Quite a few, and the occasional social cause events such a the World Naked Bike Ride. The offense itself is created by a repressive culture where the sight of the human body is offensive instead of beautiful and natural. If it were not offensive, and nudity were considered healthy and normal, as it is in a great many places and native tribes, the flasher would not have such a weapon. It is not possible in naturist areas where families, yes families, enjoy their freedom.

If it were a man flashing a kid, I don't think people would be so quick to rush to the person's defense. It would go down about as well as Pee Wee Herman.

But Peewee was trying to get caught.

He was tripping the morals clause in his contract to get out of the shitting never ending gig he was in.

Or at least that's the conclusion E true Hollywood story put forward.

Penises are so indefensible that a man would never do that as long as he was in charge of what he was doing. Men are wary and scared. Alcohol/meth redefines the social contract one-sidedly, until you wake up the following day having to deal with the consequences of actions we can't remember making. We forget what is criminally objectionable. Dutch Courage.

Boobs are so benign (in theory) that it's possible that Jennifer didn't realise that what she was doing was an actionable crime. She might have thought that there was a context or that she was safe because she was being ironic. She wasn't trying to hurt the children, she was trying to prove to the parents that they were assholes because what she was doing was not hurting the children (which is the only sane way that this could have happened unless she was shitfaced/mental/high.). Regular People don't know the law, and are constantly amazed when the law tries to surprise-destroy them.

^ This, coupled with the one-sided report and sensationalizing of the media , make for a national tempest in a backyard teacup.

Snowden: "Aliens could use cryptography to mask their signals as natural radiation - if there were aliens, of course."
Media: SNOWDEN REVEALS SECRET ALIEN SIGNAL COVERUP!!!

Elon Musk: "Prioritize your passion. Now let me finish peeing, please."
MEDIA: ELON MUSK REVEALS SECRET TO BILLIONAIRE WEALTH!!!

Lien: "I rebutt your position with an argument of equal validity - my actual butt."
MEDIA: HIDE YOUR BABIES! DISGRUNTLED EX ACTRESS FROM A SHOW THAT ENDED OVER A DECADE AGO IS APPARENTLY LIVING OUT A REAL LIFE HANSEL AND GRETEL!!!

Comparing what Lien did to a man flashing his penis is ridiculous. Lien didn't show her genitles. Just her butt, and everbody has a butt. Big deal. I don't even consider the boob flash a big issue since it's a total sexist double standard.

While flashing a pair of titties may not seem like that big of a deal under normal circumstances these were not normal. Lien did it to intentionally piss off her neighbors and cause a scene in front of children. She obviously wanted a reaction. She got one. I doubt if this were in a bar, or somewhere else under different circumstances, it'd have escalated to where we are now. However, Lien does seem to have a knack for escalating things lately though.

I don't think you understood the concept behind my post. It would preclude the offense.

Heh, but which would you rather see (or touch): A man's breast and nipple or a woman's? No matter which preference is yours, isn't that sexist too? ;)

I don't understand how my sexual orientation makes me sexist or is relevant to my opinion.
I just don't think flashing breasts, even in front of children, should be enough to lock someone up. No wonder we have the largest prison population of any civilized country if that's all it takes.

Public nudity isn't explicitly banned in Germany for example (it's common in public parks or at beaches). It can become an issue when somebody feels harassed but even then it's generally only the case with complete nudity, not with mere toplessness.

Toplessness just isn't something people should give a shit about and certainly not a reason to actually put somebody in jail. It's just boobs. I don't believe in protecting children from boobs.

Complete nudity in front of children is a different story and certainly can be harassment.

Borgboy, do you know how dangerous girl boobs are?

If one of us is caught looking, we're a pig who does not respect women, then they tell all their friends, and we're universally blacklisted from the dating pool because we lingered a little too long while trying to read a name tag.

It's a literal booby trap.

No, I am fucking serious about name tags.

When I am being served by men, I know their names (for about 3 minutes.).

When I am being served by women I DO NOT KNOW THEIR NAMES.

It feels rude and impersonal.

"Sigh".

Name tags. Yeah, I believe you Guy.

As long as you believe me when I say that I'm just checking for lanyards. That's all I'm doing. Checking for lanyards.

It's also stupid and dumb to be doing this to people, especially considering the law that exists here in Ontario that lets women go topless if they want to. Why should her breasts being shown in public be a big deal? The USA needs to loosen up a bit on this.

Jennifer Lien should be held up as some sort of Lady Godiva activist for nudism. People are just using this incident to further whatever personal opinions they have about nudity, which is beside the point. She's got serious issues and having her behavior escalate to the point where she gets hauled away by the police is not something to shrug off as simply a case of an overly prudish or uptight neighborhood.

I don't understand how my sexual orientation makes me sexist...
You're showing a preference for an entire gender of people for which you may provide food, clothing, shelter, emotional support, health care and other benefits while simultaneously providing the other with nothing but beer and handshakes before sending them on their way. It's discriminatory.

...nudism...
The word is grossly overused. Nude means no clothes at all. Nothing. Topless, bottomless or flashing is not nude. I want the press to get it right.

^ Now that I agree with but I'd say she needs professional help, not time in jail.

Agreed. Based on all account she probably has needed help all the way back to her Voyager days.

You're just continuing to make my point. You're grandstanding. This is not about the issue of public nudity regardless of whatever term you want to use, nor is it a case of overzealous police enforcement.

This is one step shy of Margot Kidder being found wandering around someone's backyard.

It's a warning sign of somebody falling apart.
