Oh well tis the nature of Who and better a companion leaves you wanting more than stays longer then they should.
The last thing we need is another companion whose presence lingers two years after she's gone...

Why not, have we ever had parent child companions (leaving aside the Ponds obviously!)

The Doctor's first companion was his granddaughter.
But you know, that's an idea... it might be cool to have a companion who was the child or grandchild of a past companion, with the old companion showing up in a recurring role so we could explore their feelings about passing the torch. We've sort of got that with Kate Stewart at UNIT, but neither she nor her father the Brigadier was ever technically a companion.

I'll be sad to see her go. Although, I do think it's really funny how several "have known for months" that she was going, but only said so after the article came out!!
I don't talk about the stuff that crosses my desk until it's public. I like having my job, after all.![]()
Would it be a little corny to use any of the kids from The Sarah Jane Adventures or would people like to see them make the leap to DW companion?

Oh, hey, we did meet Jo's son in "Death of the Doctor" on The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Actually, the Brig did tavel back in The Three Doctors, as well as The Five Doctors, didn't he? So, that's two TARDIS Trips, therefore, technically a CompanionWhy not, have we ever had parent child companions (leaving aside the Ponds obviously!)

Was he her son, or Grandson? I'm pretty sure he was her GrandsonOh, hey, we did meet Jo's son in "Death of the Doctor" on The Sarah Jane Adventures.
I would like to see Susan and Jenny again, and discover if there's a connection there.

I have no interest in seeing Jenny again, but Susan is on my very short list of things from the Classic series that I'd like to revisit. Lots of potential there. The Classic series generally didn't explore personal relationships like that, but the new series does.
Mr Awe
Lets not forget Wilf and Donna!
In the Nerd Debate over "Who can be considered a Companion", I believe, the rule is "2 Seperate TARDIS Trips" to qualify as a CompanionActually, the Brig did tavel back in The Three Doctors, as well as The Five Doctors, didn't he? So, that's two TARDIS Trips, therefore, technically a Companion![]()
Plenty of people have travelled in the TARDIS without being companions -- Jackie Tyler, for instance, or the Master.
