To me, the jellyfish part is that it appears kind of transparent or translucent. It didn't even look anything like a jellyfish. Farpoint station, now that was a jellyfish. This thing looked more like a cuttlefish, at best.
RegentWorf, you made a beautiful avatar; that slide show has some nice ones. I like the one showing his eyes close up, too. I left you a note in the Kirk/Spock thread.
I don't mind the shape. The name Jellyfish is what irks me. What, they couldn't invent a Vulcan word for "Jellyfish" to use, or even come up with a better Vulcan name? Why not the Lirpa? It looks like one.
(And that is a nice avatar, RegentWorf.)

I agree; they should have named it the Rk't'poK-slaZhbV:rrtT/A/bCKa. Now that sounds alien. "What's that?" "Oh, that's the Rk't'poK-slaZhbV:rrtT/A/bCKa from the future!" "Oh." Bzwzwwwzww.

I agree. I thought it to be a unique design and have no problem with Geordi being its creator.Count me as a person who loved the design of the jellyfish.
The Jellyfish is of Vulcan design, isn't it?
So it's no surprise that it doesn't look Starfleet.
The whole point of it was to distance it from the usual Trek ship look.
It was funky looking and cool and fresh.
