Jamie Bamber to "17th Precinct"

I hope they come up with a better title than "17th Precinct."
17th Precinct: Miami?
"Whoever it was, the killer pulled a gun and opened fire on both victims. Baby Bear took two wounds to the arm and chest, but they think he'll pull through. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Goldilocks."
"Well, for Goldilocks, at least, it looks like that .38 slug was just right." :mallory:

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!

That's what I meant. He probably works 4 days per episode then if British TV is run like ours.

Even so, it's not like he could commute back and forth from England to LA every four days, especially since his work on 17th Precinct would probably require him to be available for most or all of a typical 8- or 9-day shooting schedule per episode. Regardless of how much time he spends on camera in each individual L&O:UK episode, the total shooting schedule for the season as a whole would be the same. (By analogy, look at any ensemble show with multiple subplots in each episode. Any given actor could appear in half or less of each episode, so it's not an unusual thing, and it wouldn't have any real impact on the overall shooting schedule.) Realistically, Bamber couldn't be expected to be available for shooting a US show until he'd completed an entire season of L&O:UK. So how much time he appears per episode is irrelevant. What makes it feasible are the short seasons of UK shows overall.

The smart thing to do would be to avoid getting written out of the show until the pilot is picked up for a full season. Maybe they could transpose the L&O episodes where Ed Green got shot (not that they were the best episodes) to give him some time off.

Well, if he's smart he'll go where the money is. :D

That's not necessarily the smart move for an actor. Obviously since Battlestar Galactica he's had no shortage of work with varying roles. So going with the money would probably mean US TV, being stuck with a long term contract with little time for other roles.

Gay porn?

Grrrr. They sure missed the boat with him and Michael Trucco. :rommie:

being stuck with a long term contract with little time for other roles.

Actors are usually happy to be "stuck" with work. Most likely, 17th Precinct is insta-cancellation bait. Shows like that are lucky to last a season. Does anyone really want to see a magical cop show? He'll be back on the market soon enough.

^Apparently not, many actors turn down US TV roles because of the long contracts. No doubt though, obviously, there are people who would just be happy to have work, who wouldn't want job security if they could get it.

Yeah, I can't conjure up any thoughts on how this show might be without my head filling with images of a winter wonderland as two agents trek through the snow holding wands while cheesy ABC Family music composed primarily of chimes and bells plays in the background. The only weird part of it all is that the two agents are trekking toward a trail of vibrant red as the body of an orc lay sprawled in Central Park.

So weird. Hey, at least one of those agents might be Jamie Bamber?

Nobody wants to watch anything with any speculative fiction elements on TV at all. Let's face it... we think there's a market for it, but there's really not. Out of 300 million people in America, there might be 6 million who would watch a sci-fi show.
