I never really had a prob w/TF or Jadzia except that the character was really bland and a little too acid for my taste. I'd have like to have seen TF with less speaking roles and just happily carried out orders, smiled, and looked stunning (sorta the way Damar was in his early days)
Yeah Photon that sounds like something more suited to the Voyager show or something like that that had to rely on eye candy to make up for other lacking areas. I mean even Leeta was eye candy on DS9, but she was far better acted and far better of a character than TF/Jadzia. DS9 didn't need eye candy to fill out any lackluster areas; and when DS9 did have eye candy anyways, it could have been done in a classy way with a good character, like how Leeta was. That's why TF/Jadzia drags it down.

DS9 would probably have been the perfect series had they had Ezri from the start. Instead we got Terry "I'm too smug for words" Farrell hamming it up for six year.
DS9 didn't need any Dax character from the start. Granted Ezri is a much better character and much better acted character than Jadzia, and would have been preferable to Jadzia right from the start. But really, both Dax characters were completely useless to the show and had no plot value whatsoever. Seems like they went for a an affirmative action-ish "let's insert a useless character into the show simply for the sake of getting another woman on the bridge" with both Dax characters.
