Jadzia's Demise

My favourite quote around the cancellation of The Dead Zone was "Bet Johnny didn't see THAT coming....."

Well the show did tank itself out. The Dead Zone and the 4400. With the writers strike and the show is being produced in Canada. With the weak American dollar who would think just a number of years ago the Canadian dollar would be so strong against the American dollar.

Think you are going to see a sucking sound of the production teams moving back into the United States. You know Battlestar Galactica is made in Canada, will they bring it to California ... will there be a shake up of the crew maybe ... the extras oh yes a shake up there.

^^ They won't move BSG, there's no point. There's not even been confirmation that they'll be shooting the remaining (seven) episodes yet AFAIK.

Glad she left the show. she was pretty but not gorgeous. she weas bland and just said her lines and then walked off. whens she died it made waves for season 7 and it caused some good shows tio be made. see, ya, Jadzia !

I think she should have died in that episode where Worf had to choose between saving her and saving that Cardassian who was defecting.

That's my choice, too - have her die in one of those episodes where "we know she won't die."

Having Dukat execute her just sounds wrong - not something that Dukat would do. He as a self-serving bastard but not gratuitously brutal. I can see him murdering someone only in a situation where there was no other way for him to benefit and only after a long speech of self-justification. This was just part of the S7 character assasination of Dukat that was so thoroughly annoying. For once, I'm siding with the suits! :rommie:

Was she really that bad as a character?

Jadzia should have been transferred to Voyager in Voyager;s first episode. on DS9 she was all smiles and teeth and hair and bland but sexy.

Jadzia Dax on Voyager ... that is a career ender ... well ... she did join the show called BECKER ...

Dead Zone and the 4400 have both been canceled.

I had no idea that either of them made a second seaosn. imagine the egg on my face that it was just that my local stations didn't want to have any part of them.

I'm noticing a lot of Star Trek names behind the camera on Dead Zone. :)
Last word I heard was that in a press release, the network had renewed The 4400 for a fourth season.

Well, I just visited the 4400 forum and found a petition to save The 4400. Damn!! Damn that network!!

She should've been thrown into the Sarlacc pit where, in his belly, she would've found a new definition of pain and suffering as she was slowly digested over a thousand years.

DS9 had few faults, Terry Farrell was probably the largest IMO.
I know, people are saying this all the time. But really, what makes Terry Farrel such a poor actress in your opinion? No, I'm not a big fan of hers. But I can't understand the dislike either. Can you cite episodes and/or scenes where her inability to act really becomes obvious? And yes, I'm serious. (And no, an answer like "She sucked in every single scene!" would not be sufficient.)

For me "Rejoined" and "Behind the Lines" are the two most obvious answers.

With BTL just look at the speech Sisko gives compared to Jadzia. Brooks's speech is excellent, while TF is just numbingly bad.

With "Rejoined," Suzie just acts circles around her, especially in the most important scene of the episode. It is, in my mind, the difference of it being just a really good episode, and not an excellent one.
I happen to agree that Terry Farrell is somewhat limited in her acting - she doesn't do strong emotions well....But she had other moments I think whem she held her own.

Remember, too, that her pre-DS9 experience was in modeling and a few television sitcoms/dramas.

I loved the character. :p

I like her character, too. I just saw her acting as part of the character's personality, but I usually try explaining such things away.

Jadzia was cool.

As for how I'd prefer her demise: I'd prefer if she accidentally tripped out of an airlock in the very first episode. I can't stand Jadzia. By far the worst-acted character on the show, worst-written character on the show, and had no plot value to the show whatsoever. And she's inherently obnoxious too. The single biggest thing wrong with DS9, the thing that dragged down the quality of DS9 a little bit, was Jadzia Dax . The biggest thing wrong with her death is that it came 6 seasons too late.

But....other than that, you like her, right?

Right?

DS9 would probably have been the perfect series had they had Ezri from the start. Instead we got Terry "I'm too smug for words" Farrell hamming it up for six year.
