i think the tragic ending is that Aaron Pierce will die...we haven't seen him yet, and he has appeared in every other season of 24.
Maybe Aaron is about to save or liberate Jack in some way, but then has a heart attack, and Jack's hope for freedom slips away as the clock ticks down...
