J.J. Abrams Almost Human

Damn. I was really hoping we'd get more. You guys went and got me all excited, and now I'm even more sad then if I got the bad news first.

This is yet another example of the rule I've had to adopt: I don't start watching any show unless it gets to season 2...

It was DOA. Fox seemed to not really care about the show starting right after the premiere. The episodes were out of order, rare ads, and weird scheduling, the writing has been on the wall for months. Even though the ratings were fine-ish, it's now finish.

On Glee tonight, Rachel Berry was auditioning for a TV show at Fox.

On the wall behind her in the conference room there were posters for their recent successful programs.

I saw, Bones, Sleepy Hallow, New Girl and Raising Hope.

Raising Hope got cancelled too :p

That's a shame, but my initial excitement over the series really wore off with time. It needed more of a serialized storyline. I started getting really bored with one-off cop stories.

It's a shame, because everything I'd seen pointed to a slow burn for season one, but a lot of potential for season two (What's beyond the wall? What were the memories Dorian had and where did they come from? What was the deal with that incident that cost Kennix his leg and what he thought was his girlfriend?). Of course, they could have blown it completely for season two, as there were some clunkers this season and the revelations about those mysteries could have gone horribly wrong if not handled well.

I'm no expert on which shows end up on Netflix, but I hope Almost Human does. It would be worth it to watch the show again in the correct order.

This is just crap.

Everytime I get into a show, someone cancels it.:brickwall:

I swear, there should never be another trek TV series unless they get 3 or 4 years in the contract.

Deadline is reporting the show is canceled.

Grrrr......

Maybe the studio will shop it around to another network.

One can only hope. I'm sure it's not cheap to make...

I'm ready to take on the same policy. (although I never would have seen Firefly)

What is it with Fox and good SCI-FI? Who's running the asylum there?

It's actually been better recently. But, although I wasn't a fan of Almost Human, the show fits the narrative of Fox being indifferent to sci-fi to a tee.

They pick the more interesting or exciting episodes to show first, to get the public interested. Then they show the stinkers at the end of the season once they've got you.
