J.J. Abrams Almost Human

Recent shows that got their back 9.

The Black List, the Tomorrow People, Reign, Brooklyn 99, the Crazy Ones, Dads, the Goldbergs, Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Millers, Mom, Trophy Wife,

Being given an extra nine episodes shouldn't sound like a surprise or a punishment.

If Sleepy Hollow had been given another nine, then they would have just brought their season 2 stuff forward, and the actors could have all bought beach houses.

If you are doing your job right, it should feel like a kick in the nuts not to get your back-nine.

How many of those shows are on Fox and how many are on networks where they'll get pre-empted for a sporting event and finally how many were intended as a 13 ep season as is the new approach from Fox?

I'm not American, and I'm not in America, but we all know that FOX is unusually evil.

Although, Brooklyn 99 is FOX.

It looked like Fox didn't like the show, but they have three extra hours to fill and the ratings were better than most of it's drama's, so I think it's iffy, but completely depends on what pilots Fox likes. Bones and Glee end next year so they have a ton of spaces to fill.

Oddly, Karl Urban pulled out of my local Comic Con, which happens in three weeks; we were hoping it was because he had to report for duty on Almost Human in Vancouver but it was more likely pickups for whatever movie he's working on.

I just turned up this article which seems to think renewal is almost a sure thing now. I've never heard of the site before and don't know how reliable they are, but fingers crossed!

I'm hoping it gets renewed. I was beginning to really enjoy it. The plots may not be that great but I really like the relationship between the leads.

And that's why the show deserves to die.

It doesn't understand it's strengths or how to capitalize on them.

Every week we get 4 minutes of the good stuff, and then the rest of the show is just awful, as they try to solve predictable future crimes weighed down in a stink of mediocrity.

Then it's not the same show, like putting a new grunty engine in an old clapped out car ...The old bad writers will end up somewhere else lowering property rates where-ever they set up shop.

Did you see that episode of The Drew Carey show, when Drew Carey wakes up after being roofied, on the Great Wall of China with no ID and no Money?

That's the sort of almost humane treatment bad TV writers should see as a fair sentence in return for their crimes against literature.

I think the show has a lot of potential and they have definitely laid the groundwork for some pretty interesting stuff. I can't wait to see where they go with it, provided the rumours prove to be true.

Good! I want to see the return of Dan Fielding. Also the leads.

Also more capitalizing on today's new technology to create storylines that creep us out over how it can be misused. It's weird how NONE of it is seen again in a subsequent episode, mind you.

The episodes were played horrifically out of order, that if they had been talking about tech from earlier stories, it would have often been before that tech was introduced to the Almost Human universe.

If you rewatch the series, becaue you now know the future, you will begin to hear atemporal story element and become angry.

They had to air that Die Hard homage as quickly as possible because every one likes Die Hard.

It was a guaranteed ratings grab, if we were morons.
