its good to see you again Jim

yeah I actually thought Pine and Nimoy had better chemistry together than Nimoy and Quinto. just me, I guess.

Well, there's also the age difference between the two actors as well as the vast chasm in chronological age and physical appearance between the two characters in the context of the Delta Vega scenes. Pine's Kirk is just 25 while Nimoy's Spock is 157.

You probably remember this, but Nimoy said the scene with Quinto was the first one they shot with him, and he wasn't that satified with it himself. He didn't really feel in character, yet.

Here's one for ya, albeit on a philosophical side: since the timelines diverged before Kirk was born, this Kirk could not have ever been the same Kirk that Spock knew in the original timeline, so technically he's not "seeing him again" :D

Well...technically yes. And no. Let's not spend 10 threads arguing about THIS one.

Arg. I wish you guys hadn't dredged this one up.

Because reading it just reminded me of how... odd it was for NuSpock to call Kirk "Jim" for the first time on the timeship. A little... Lot premature, considering an hour or two previously, he had drilled him into a 30-foot crater on Delta Vega.

"Captain," would have been good... but "Jim..?" I guess you could mark it down to Spock being off his pins, but that's a long way for a Vulcan to let somebody in, considering the sequence of events.

EDIT: Subtle suggestion of the direction of the future, perhaps - between this and the viewscreen thing, we've got some Butch-and-Sundance stuff going on here...
