It'll be lonely this Christmas....

Hugs right back at Randi and K'eh. :)

So how's it going now Zee? All back to normal?
You didn't miss out on much ~
I got really quite squiffy at my in-laws on Boxing Day. Sis in law pours horrendously huge vodka and tonics because it's the only time she has someone to drink with.
They never say anything at dinner or have tele or music on, so I go into 'panicky wittering mode' to fill the silence, where I talk complete rubbish, don't eat anything, drink too much and shout at Father in law who is really deaf and refuses to wear a hearing aid.

Was so 'tired and emotional' when I got home I snored to Hamlet thus missing Sir Patrick Stewart which I'd been looking forward to all Christmas :(

Yeah, I didn't miss out much either. Much the same as other Christmasses, minus the turkey and the people I care about living in the same house. And only BBC 1 and 2 on the TV for some bizarre reason. But I was well rested.

Well I actually had a Christmas dinner today, with my dad (my stepmom was sick...again :( ). So that's the good thing. My actual Christmas Day sucked big time - spent the whole day shoveling snow - but at least I got some much needed holiday spirit today*. Better late than never!

* Christmas Eve was great too, actually. The weather hadn't yet started to get bad, and we had most of the family here.

You must do the opera with a much arm waving and facial expression as possible, and fancy dress :D

Carnival of Souls ~ is that the really old film where she survives a car crash and people don't see her? I found that really creepy :shifty:

I really LOVE that idea K! We're going to have to try that next time my son comes back home. I can see it now...it'll be hilarious!

Yes, CoS is that movie. It was creepy (when i saw it as a child)..only one scene still creeps me out bigtime. The rest is kind of...goofy now. But sooo funny with the rifftrax!

I empathize with you regarding your HoH father in law. Mine is too, close to deaf at this point. He did break down some years ago and got the hearing aids, but they barely help him. On the upside he sleeps 85% of the time while he is here. So we don't spend the day repeating ourselves quite so much. And we don't have to tiptoe around because we are worried about waking him up!

MLB, i'm so glad the spirit has finally hit you! :)

Hope you have fun at the opera :D

I'm going to have to find CoS again now to remember the scene, and what is rifftrax? Son bought it for me for Chrimbo years back and I remember it freaked both of us, but for a 3 films on one dvd for £1, I thought it was a treasure  Anything with a circus/carnival I find v creepy and don't get me started on ventriloquist dummies

Re; Father in Law, I just get nervous there as a guest and witter on ~ he's probably looking at me thinking "why on earth doesn't that woman stop shouting at me about the price of shoe repairs and let me nap" :guffaw:

:( Check out iplayer.
Great plan WB, but it won't be the same... I s'pose I could balance laptop on sofa and stretch out... will need my glasses though :guffaw: Did see most of it, but to be honest a bit fed up with David Tennant at the mo as he seems to have been on every bloody programme over Christmas :klingon:

You know, they once said the same thing about John Barrowman at any other time of year.

Ventriloquist dummies? Look for a movie called Dead Of Night.

Carnival Of Souls is a classic. They could never make a movie like that today.

Why, why why, would you point me in that direction RJD? I think I've seen it ~ well at least the start of it but you know full well I'm going to have to watch it now and also the other ones recommended on Wiki:lol:
I'm just going to move the sofa so there is room behind it to hide :scream:
Please send me a pillow to protect me :wah:

One Anti-Ventriloquist Dummy Pillow on the way!

Hehe!!!! Rifftrax :

is like Mystery Science Theater. They make goofy movies hilarious.

And i have a thing against clowns. I was on Bozo the Clown when i was a kid, and he totally freaked me out. The minute we went off camera and went backstage i threw up all over the place. Clowns freak me out.

Over on another forum, one of our members died today at 9:16pm Central Time after a fight against testicular cancer. He was 25 years old. He purposely held on until today before passing.

Being lonely isn't so bad after all.

At least your friend made it to Christmas. One of my former coworkers was trying to, but he died on the 23rd. :(

Robert, i am so sorry! :(

But come on he has ~ it's only a guest appearance on Corrie that's missing

Surely you saw him buying a sausage roll and a can of Vimto in Dev's on Christmas Day?

j/k [/QUOTE]

Dev's was closed on Christmas Day :p Oh until Kev wanted some random excuse to get Molly alone... ;)

But do you think David Tennant killed Archie in Eastenders though??? I would not be surprised :shifty:

Thank you :techman: I even slightly freaked at Beauty and the Beast when the furniture started singing ~ it's just not right :klingon:

And Robert, Ebeneezer ~ I'm sorry for your loses
