Prequal series to the IT movies based on the Stephen King novel. There will be three seasons and each one goes backward in time: 1962, 1935, and 1908 respectively.

I give it a 7/10. Both the beginning and ending came out of nowhere and is quite a way to let the audience know that this series won't pull any punches.

I am curious. I thought the latest two movies were quite good adaptions, even some key elements were missing. But that's always something that will happen with adaptions. Either because of a crowded plot or some things simply are hard to pull off on film. So it could be fun to see what this show can add to it.

I'm too lazy to google it right now; is King himself in any way attached to the show?

No but he endorsed it.

Once you separate yourself from the book it makes sense as it plays out in the new movie verse and that's ok. It is an adaptation and after having seen the pilot it is intriguing where they will go with it. They already formed a pseudo Losers Club which already ran into "problems".

I usually hate the horror genre and rarely make exceptions, this is one of them as IT is one of my favorite books.

Yeah..... Maybe that's a good thing. Especially with King's odd comments about the Epstein files a while back.

You will never be able to win any argument when it comes to this scene, no matter how well you explain it. I read the book as a teenager and just went WTF?? and that hasn't changed even though i know why King included it.

I suppose. But it is quite unsettling.

Through 3 episodes I'd say its coming along nicely. Third episode did a good job of dropping clues for the next few seasons. Still waiting on a full pennywise to appear, but he's making his presence felt in other ways. ;_

Sort of enjoying it, sort of not. Feels like a formula is appearing - one big, gross Pennywise scene per episode (designed for gross out factor and to get social media talking), with a lot of dialogue and world-building in between.

Episode 3 made it feel there was progression starting to tie it together - but its a bit of a slog at present. Beautifully produced though. My Mother, the major King fan in the family, is loving it. Am hoping the pacing at present is going to pay off to a strong ending.

The other scene that will never be included is the one with Patrick Hockstetter and Henry Bowers after Henry's gang was lighting their farts.

I'm enjoying this series. There's a lot of Easter Eggs in each episode. Some are subtle others stand out.

I do like how some of the story lines from the book are used in the series. The biggest or most obvious one is Dick Halloran and his friends setting up the Black Spot. Some of the more subtle ones are Major Fuller being named after Sargent Fuller.

I'm a bit behind on the series. I finished episode 3 last night but man am I loving it. And I'm not even that much of a King fan or a horror gore fan in general. The addition of Dick Halloran is fascinating to me and I love the crossover of this character with the world of IT.

That last episode was awesome. Pennywise was as dangerous as ever and the scene with his daughter was just creepy. Plus we got the dead lights twice.

Okay, so the General went from standard 60s Cold War crazy to Dr Strangelove totally batsh*t crazy...

....I love it!

Caught up to episode 7. That was one heck of an episode. Filling in lore for Pennywise then jumping back to the events in the present which were tragic.

Can't even guess where episode 8 and 9 is going.

One of the best series of 2025.
