It had to be...you!

Okay people; its time to start figuring out who will have the honor of seeing this new movie with you. My wife has calle dibs, but I am seriously thinking about sneaking out to see it at the 12am showing...

Then again, maybe not. If she found out I did see it with out her, it could be the end of our marriage!!! you know women!!!...

My son, 5 year old, wants to see it too. But I will not take him on that first showing, and to be kind, I will take him at the 1030am showing. By the way, if you see movies at 1030am, do expect kids to be there running around...

However, if you're one of those people who brings five year olds to movies at 10pm??? You're kids should be taken from you...forever!!!

Okay...so who will you all be seeing XI with for that first time...and you know what they say..there is nothing like the first time.

One-legged wife (AKA "Her Gimpyness" AKA "Queen Unballanced The Hobbled") has already informed The Medical Community that she will be mobile enough to see this movie on opening day, period the end.

I'll be seeing it with my own Geek Posse. I was going to have to wait to see it until Friday night after work, but since I'll be laid off, I can now go to the midnight showing.

I hate packed theaters (but I do like a theater with a "good crowd"), so I probably won't see it until the Saturday or Sunday Matinee.

I will be seeing it with my wife and hopefully with my 14-year old daughter -- However, being a 14-year old girl, she will most likely create a huge drama about not wanting to see it -- especially if she thinks that I want her to see it with me.

I'll probably go with friends after I've already gone to the 12am showing :D

it's going to be a great week with Transformers 2 coming out on the 2nd and Star Trek on the 8th
I'm taking vacation that week :D

You know what? Thats not a bad idea. I'm going to type up the paper work now!!!

I guess I am going alone. I don't think I have ever gone to a movie alone before. Seems like a low point.

"Honey, are you going to see Star Trek with me when it comes out?"

My wife turned and looked suspicious, "That depends, are you going for the first showing again? I have to work."

"Take a vacation day, I always do. Every boss I've had has gotten a vacation day notice as soon as I knew when the next Trek movie was coming out."

"That's you. I'm not taking a day off just to see Star Trek."

"But sweetie, this is the closest thing I have to a religious holiday. The family should be together on special occasions."

She looked at me like I was trying to stuff scrambled eggs into my nostrils and crossed her arms. She could be like that, stubborn and defiant when she thinks she has the moral high ground. But I choose my battles quite carefully and always hold my best weapons in reserve, just in case.

"It'll be my birthday."

Her shoulders slumped. Her eyes rolled with frustration. "Alright, alright! I'll go with you, but no Spock ears this time! How many showings?"

"Lunch is on me."

She might not enjoy the day as much as me, but she relented, as I knew she would. Just wait until she finds out the first showing is at midnight.

Well considering I just broke up with the mrs, probably just see it with some friends. And i'll wait a day or two...or maybe a week before I see it. hard-core fans dunno how to 'hush' in a cinema. I'd prefer to for once go to a sci-fi movie without having the need to stand up, turn around and swat some guy, telling him to "STFU!"

yes, I made a yougn teenager cry in Star Wars 2 for not shutting up about every scene BEFORE the scene showed. Even though the movie was crap. But I was more savage than simply saying "stfu"

My best friends from down in Florida keep saying they wanna drive or fly up to Virginia this May and go see it with me during the opening weekend or first week it's out. I have several local friends who can fill in if my Florida ones can't make it.

Wow, sucks to be some of you. You have chosen poorly.

My wife will be there with me on opening night, she loves Star Trek & wouldn't miss it for the world. :)

My son, 5 year old, wants to see it too.

Ah memories... when my now 16 year old son was 5, he would say, "I like engage"... when I said "engage" with him on my shoulders galloping along.

Anyway, probably see it solo as I work at home, then later with son if he still thinks its cool.

Interestingly, his friends who have seen the trailer have pretty much said "cool" and "I might go see that".

Maybe ST is due for a revival. Again.

I'll take my four kids (11-17 YOA) to the midnight showing in IMAX. I'd love to have my wife go with but she usually doesn't go with us to midnight shows because she might fall asleep. I'm sure I'll take her and the others to a regular show in the afternoon of the 8th, too. If it's as good as I'm hoping, I'll likely see it a few more times on a big screen with friends.

The girlfriend and I will be going to the midnight showing. :D

I just need to wear her down and get her to watch some TOS, first... ;)

On vacation that week...

Going to the first show I can get tickets for.

GF will probably go the 2nd time I go (she likes to snuggle in the dark theater)
