It is fiction. Sometimes you are going to get the things you want, other times you won't. It wasn't what I wanted, but at the same time, I have a hard time calling it a "bad" ending.
Dude, complaining about not getting what you wanted could literally describe the sum total of your hundreds, possibly even into the thousands now, of posts in the Discovery Forum. :p

Luke's ending isn't what *I* expected or wanted walking in to TLJ. But I found it an extremely satisfying ending as by choosing not to fight and becoming the greatest of all Jedi. Luke "used the Force for knowledge and defense," not for attack. And at the same time, he created a symbol for the downtrodden to unify behind. That's a pretty amazing thing!
Very rarely do I get what I want in a film, other than entertainment. Of times, I discover things that I didn't want but are much more enjoyable.

I didn't say anyone shouldn't post their complaints. Just to realize sometimes things not going your way doesn't necessarily equate to a "bad" decision. :techman:

Well, life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
And life has a funny way of helping you out
Helping you out.

Well, that's the end of the song. But I need to mention ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife. Because, you know.

Actually I was hoping for a spork, presumably that's a non starter?
