Is this board 'cliquey'

I agree with those who say it's less cliquey now than it used to be. For a while there with the 'ignored' stuff it definitely was, although I don't think they ever meant to be exclusive - most people just stopped bothering to read that thread and their in-jokes spread elsewhere and started bugging people.

Before that I viewed ElimParra and Emh's weekly report threads as kind of a measure of how well known you were. If you got a generic comment it meant they had no clue who you were.

And I certainly made friends here with whom I communicated off-board via IM, etc. Most of those people aren't very prolific these days.

Oh don't get me started on the cliquishness of the BR....

I think, in the past, things were a bit more cliquey. When a thread for ignored people started ignoring new people who wanted to get in the thread, it was a problem.

Now it's not so bad. Spammy? Yes. Cliquey? Not so much. I mean, it's a large board, so not every post gets responded to, but I don't think people are systematically ignoring any posts.

there are people who have similar interests who might hang out in
certain threads ect but most of the people seem to be welcoming to who ever drops in as long as they contribute while behaving themselves.

I do want to say that, generally, you're supposed to keep TNZ-related things in TNZ (sort of a Vegas thing). Out here, we're nice and happy. In there, we're mean and angry

That was at least 2 years now.

I haven't really noticed if it's cliquey or not now, as I mostly hang out with the admirals in the lounge.
