Is this board 'cliquey'

I dunno. I think there are older posters who have seen others post for so long that they just get to know that person's posting style, and either in jest, or seriously want to mess with them a bit. It can come across as seeming more mean spirited than intended, especially when groups of posters end up doing it.

On the other end of the spectrum there's new posters, who due to the new film come and post an opinion, which seems just to be antagonistic and because the old posters don't know them, and they don't know the old posters can end up being more hostile (seeming) than it needs to.

I'm sure after years here people have posters they like more than others, so banter a bit more with each other, but I don't think that's so much clique-y as familiarity.

It really depends on how people act. I joined in April and (I think, anyways) I've fit in because of how I act. I don't come here and bash people or the movie or the shows, I just post and have fun and I think people can see that sort of attitude and can see I am easy to talk to and if you tell me to lift up my shirt, I wont be offended.

No, actually--I don't believe it can.
Camelopard, not only is it possible, it happened to me, and it was quite a life-changing moment. :) It may not be possible for you or others of the same mindset, because you are not open to it...

Anytime, glad you dig it!

I just love it to bits. I didn't think the affect would work on black and white, but it has come out perfectly. I owe you one, you can cash that token in anytime. :D

Yeah, you're right, I didn't mean to generalise like that. I just meant they're some of the reasons I can think of why it could seem clique-y to some people.
Now, take off your top, and pm me the pics. ;)

^ I tend to be as non-confrontational here as I am in real life. *shrug* That's how I roll. :D

What he said. I for one don't find it cliquey around here at all (well, in TNZ it's a slightly different story, but I don't go there too often anyway). In general, I feel welcomed and accepted by most people on here, and free to express my opinions, even though I only joined the board this year. You guys are awesome. :)

Of course, if there are cliques, I'm probably the last one who would know about it. If they're anything like the cliques in RL, I doubt there's one that would take me!

I remember you saying you were 14 when you first joined.
You made me feel like a bad, bad man!

Is that true? Damn, I now retract the last thing I said.

????????

I don't remember ever saying I was 14. I may have said I LOOK 14 but I am a happy 25 year old bag.

The more you post, the better I will get to know you and feel comfortable arguing with you... never really noticed any cliques.

Oh, well then my mistake. All I caught was the "14 years old" part and went "nevermind!".

J.

Glad that got cleared up... making J. Allen feel like a bad, bad man is, like, the 8th Deadly Sin, or something. ;)

Well, since I'm viewing the board in Flat mode, we can at least be sure that it does not have K3,3 or K5 as a subclique....

Yep! That one gets the plague of boils. Or is it mild itching? I can't remember.

The exploits of bad men are always a pleasure to read.

Glad there's no jail-bait around. Phew!

No, but there's plenty of ... other ... bait. :shifty:
Oh, and I can be a bad, bad man.
