It ends with two sides figuring out that the conflict was because of misunderstanding, the script ends with reconciliation instead of a boss fight or is my memory betraying me?
Seriously. Spock was fine the first Pine movie but they should have done their own thing after that.I would love to read the Star Trek Into Oblivion script if anyone has it. I'm curious if Shatner and Nimoy were Prime Kirk and Spock or aged Kelvinverse Kirk and Spock, since reports and rumours differed.
Sounds too much like the plot of ST09 to me.Supposedly Bryan Cranston was the preferred casting for the antagonist, a Vulcan with goal of preventing the destruction of Vulcan.
That would've contradicted Prime still existing all alonghttps://dannylavery9.wordpress.com/2017/10/27/the-many-ways-to-bring-back-kirk-prime/
"Orci was planning to co-write and direct a third Star Trek movie. In it, the Federation, The Vulcans and a new race were racing to get their hands on a time travel device, the Vulcans wanted to get their hands on a time travel device. In the process, the Prime Timeline would have been restored, ending the trilogy, with the return of Kirk Prime."
When we are both on twitter (i myself jumped off the ship a couple of months) Orci told me to DM me my email and he'd send it
It never arrived in my inbox![]()
It’s a horrible story idea and I’m very happy it was never made. That would've contradicted Prime still existing all along![]()

Never heard of anyone seeing the script, but there must've been enough of one for an Art Dept to have been working on designs.
It was about a race between competing factions to acquire a time-travel device.
I once read Bob Orci describe the plot as "the last temptation of Kirk and Spock" on Trekmovie.com.
What would they do with the chance to undo their respective parental losses?

I imagine that character would've run the risk of being too close to Nero. Although as a Vulcan, not motivated by vengeance and just loss.
And if true, wouldn't such a storyline require Eric Bana to reprise that role? Or just show the Narada?
Likewise Hemsworth as George Kirk, if it doesn't stop there at presenting altered versions of scenes from the 2009 film.
Maybe competing in the arms race for the time-travel device doesn't ever reach the point where it is used? Or just enough to prove how even more disastrous it is, and a reversal to save the day.

I've never heard anything about Orci's script resetting to the Prime timeline, that also kills any future movie releases, so it's a non-starter. Someone may have been confused about having Shatner and Nimoy star as older versions of Pine and Quinto, and presumably need to fix the Kelvinverse timeline from villainous shennanigains. Why are they so determined to reset the timeline? I get that it should be a thought of Kirk and Spock and the rest of the crew, because they know their potential futures were stolen from them. But from a creative aspect and a production aspect, why?
Wasn't entirely sure where to put this, but it seems the rumours flying around Trekmovie.com years ago about him being an alcoholic were true, and his vanishing from movie and TV makes sense. And sadly, it gets a lot worse. His wife has filed a lawsuit with some very unpleasant allegations.

You know, I've been fired from jobs in the past and I've never once beat my spouse. So, if this is supposed to minimize Orci's actions, it fails utterly.I wonder how much impact did his story being shelved and him being removed (or dropping out) as director affected him.
It's very rarely one single event or incident which suddenly causes everything else to go off the rails. Life doesn't work like that, and neither does alcohol. I stongly suspect his script for a third movie being declined was just one symptom of a problem which had been affecting his work and personal life for some time. If anything, it's not unlikely that he was already susceptible at the time his ideas for Into Darkness had to take a back seat to what Lindeloff and the studio execs wanted to do with that movie. It seems to me after his version of Star Trek Beyond was shelved everything just stopped for Orci. He was still listed as a 'producer' but from what I've read that's basically in name only. I think it was noted he spoke to the director once and that was it.
